PS: This pic is from the same series of photos the I tested in Affinity and PS was developed in another program. Nearly instant loading and development in that program. I like that.
As a RAW converter, Affinity Photo is very slow.
Besides this I like Affinity Photo in many other respects. Use it every day, not often PS.

it was a bit quicker in ACR on my computer this morning, when I made a new test, even in Affinity. Still, ACR + PS is a quicker way. My other RAW developer, Canon DPP 4, is nearly instant in loading and developing. It is a simple software compared to the two others, but still a good RAW converter for a Canon user. Very useful.

The latest beta, 1.7.0.209, takes about the same time as before for me on my old i5 Win 10 computer. From opening the raw file to the stop developing (see picture down) it took about 30 sec. In Photoshop it was about 4 times faster making the same process, just opening and developing the raw file. In CameraBag Pro and Canon Photo Pro 4 software the raw development was instant.

HEIC is a new Apple specific file image format introduced in the iOS 11 beta. We do not support this (one week old) file format in the release build. We may choose to support it by the time the OS 11 is public in October.

Yes, the problem is caused by the photo format .heic. It's a new photo container introduced by Apple in iOS 11. As for now, only iOS 11 devices like iPhone X, iPhone 8, etc. and macOS High Sierra could open it properly. Other platforms like Windows or Android can't even support it yet. In this case, you are suggested to firstly convert the specific HEIC picture to JPG, PNG or other more commonly used ones. I have some questions about radiometric calibration using various satellite images.
Calibration to sigma0 is conducted well from various satellite images such as S-1, K-5, ICEYE, etc.
Whenever I tried to calibrate to beta0 or gamma0, there were some problems.
Using S-1, everything is fine.

Regarding converting NURBS to a MESH, it seems as though the current method is optimised to be the most efficient (mathematically? / polygon count?) but not necessarily for usage. cmv_snap3/axiom_snap writes images in the RAW12 format. In recent years, betavoltaic batteries have become an ideal power source for micro electromechanical systems. Betavoltaic battery is a device that converts the decay energy of beta emitting radioisotope sources into electrical energy using transducers. They have the advantages of high energy density, long service life, strong anti-interference ability, small size, light weight, easy miniaturization and integration, thus it has become a research hotspot in the field of micro energy. However, to date, the low energy conversion efficiencies as well as technological limitations of betavoltaic batteries impede their further application. In this review, the theory of betavoltaic energy conversion and recent understanding of the ideal material and structure design of the betavoltaic batteries for efficient exciton production, dissociation and charge transport is described, as well as recent attempts to realize optimum results. This review article concludes by identifying the remaining challenges for the improvement of battery performance and by providing perspectives toward real application of betavoltaic batteries.

In recent years, studies of betavoltaic batteries were devoted to enhancing their efficiency and output power density through optimization the choice of an adequate semiconductor (C, GaN, SiC, ZnO, etc.) and converter structure (p-n, p-i-n, Schottky). 7,9 On the other hand, source material selection (63Ni, 147Pm, 3H, etc.) and the maximisation of possible power to the betavoltaic converter were also studied in parallel. The encouraging results provide a great promise for the betavoltaic cells provide power to military and commercial devices in the near future.

In this review, we first discuss the operating principles and theoretical estimation of betavoltaic batteries. Next, a comprehensive description of optimization strategies is presented, including: (1) diode structure, (2) source of beta radiation, and (3) design and development of new semiconductor for betavoltaic cells. By highlighting these design principles, we aim to provide a foundation for future innovation in the field and move closer towards the end goal of application.

As shown in Fig. 3, according to the surface topography, the architecture of betavoltaic battery can be mainly divided into plate structure, channel structure, inverted pyramid structure and 3D porous structure. The basic and most commonly used configuration is plate structure, and three-dimensional surface microstructure and a porous design were subsequently used to betavoltaic device for increasing the effective surface area of the cell thus improving source efficiency and achieving higher power density. 29,30
