The Scribes are Daemons of Tzeentch created to gather the shards of their god, if they were ever to succeed in collecting all the lost fragments, Tzeentch would swallow them and renew itself to its full glory and power. [1a]

Legend states that Tzeentch was once the most powerful of the four Chaos Gods but the other three united against him, casting him down from the Endless Mountains and shattering him into a thousand pieces. These shards shifted to become spells of incantation and wanting to regain his power, the Great Sorcerer created two deamons and tasked them with learning every spell in existance. [1a]

He needed P'Tarix and Xirat'p to be more self aware than other horrors, but being ever watchful of betrayal he made it so although P'tarix can write down any spell, he cannot read them and Xirat'p can read the incantations but not understand them. They were then dispatched to seek out every spell in existence and not to return until their task was complete. [1a]

Noted blogger Bill Rini of Bill's Poker Blog is also a long time friend of PokerTracker 4 developer Tarix, they met before either of them got involved in online poker and have remained friends throughout the years. This friendship is what makes the interview below from Bill's Poker Blog so unique, and the reason why this is the first interview with a PokerTracker developer that has ever been authorized!

tarix got into poker shortly after I did and he and I have spent countless hours playing poker together in Los Angeles and Las Vegas before he decided to move to Japan. He eventually migrated from video games to working for PokerTracker so I thought it would be interesting to share his thoughts on what it takes to develop an essential piece of software for the poker community.

tarix* is the pseudonym for one of the key members of the PokerTracker 4 Development team. Prior to joining PokerTracker in 2008, tarix enjoyed a very successful development career in video game industry. Although tarix is originally from the USA, he currently resides in Japan with his wife.

P'tarix scrawls frantically with a quill crafted from a Lord of Change's pinfeather. Xirat'p reads the written words to check for mistakes; in so doing unleashing the power bound within on any unfortunate enough to be nearby.[1a]

The Blue Scribes' mission often draws them to battlefields, where the most destructive and powerful magics are used. If threatened, Xirat'p starts reading at random from the accumulated scrolls, trusting to the hand of fate, his true master, to guide him to the correct scroll for each occasion.[1a]

This can have quite spectacular and bizarre results, with a foe as likely to be struck by multicoloured lightning as they are to be drenched by their own personal thunderstorm or transmuted to solid gold.[1a]

Some say there was a time when Tzeentch was the greatest of all the Chaos Gods, and he ruled his brethren through his sorcerous might. In time, the other gods deposed the Great Sorcerer in a mighty battle and cast him from his perch upon the Endless Mountains. The resulting impact shattered mighty Tzeentch into ten thousand pieces.[1a]

These shards of god-stuff were flung across infinity and the might of the Great Sorcerer was forever diminished. These events form the birth of magic in many legends of the Known World, for it is said that each shard of Tzeentch shifted form to become a spell or incantation. These quickly multiplied throughout mortal minds and so spread throughout eternity.[1a]

Though each was too small to retain any of Tzeentch's personality, the Great Sorcerer slowly became aware of these fragments and resolved to reclaim them so that he may once more become fully whole and reclaim his status as the greatest amongst the Chaos Gods.[1a]

To this end, Tzeentch created two Daemons, P'tarix and Xirat'p, tasked with learning every spell in existence. Though Blue Horrors in form and surly personality, the quest required these Blue Scribes to be more self-aware than others of their kind.[1a]

Ever careful of betrayal, even by his own Daemonic creations, Tzeentch bestowed this intelligence with care. P'tarix can transcribe the magical syllables of any spell to parchment, but cannot read. Xirat'p can read his brother's scribblings, but cannot understand them.[1a]

Judging his work to be good, the Great Sorcerer sent his creations out into existence to complete their quest. In truth, the Blue Scribes can never complete their task, for magic has multiplied in the service of mortals.[1a]

This is well for Xirat'p and P'tarix and for existence itself. Should the Blue Scribes complete their task, Tzeentch would swallow them, reuniting the lost fragments of his being and absorbing the extra power born along the way. It is doubtful that any creature, mortal or Daemon, would survive such a renewal.[1a]

The Blue Scribes, also known as the "Azure Arcanologists," the "Wandering Wizardkin" and "Tzeentch's Quaestors," are a pair of Blue Horrors named P'tarix and Xirat'p, created by their master, the Great Conspirator Tzeentch, to travel throughout the dimensions of reality to find and record every known spell and scrap of forbidden knowledge.

They seek to recover these items, for contained within them is the essence of the power that Tzeentch lost many millennia ago when he was supreme amongst all of the other Dark Gods. If the Blue Scribes' quest ever proves successful, Tzeentch will regain his position as the most powerful being in all of Creation.

There was a time when Tzeentch ruled supreme over the Warp, his powers vastly superior to those of any of his brothers (or so maintain his followers). In their envy and arrogance, the other Dark Gods set aside their differences and joined forces to overthrow the Architect of Fate. Territories too vast and maddening to comprehend were devastated in the cataclysmic conflict that followed.

During the final battle, with defeat seeming inevitable, Tzeentch cast a great conjuration upon himself, crystallising his thoughts and body even as he was lifted up from his perch and hurled against the Endless Mountains. Upon impact, his mighty form was shattered into ten thousand pieces.

Each of these shards contained a tiny fragment of the Arch-Sorcerer's essence -- a single spell or word of change -- and flung as they were across every corner of space and time, Tzeentch's power was irremediably weakened. The legends of many intelligent races suggest this momentous event marked the beginning of the use of psychic sorcery in realspace.

After his defeat, Tzeentch created the two Blue Scribes, the Blue Horrors P'tarix and Xirat'p, and tasked them with retrieving every single shard of his former being by travelling through the many dimensions of Creation to find and record every one of his lost spells.

Not by chance has Tzeentch chosen two lowly Blue Horrors for such an important task. The Great Schemer, as always, was wary of what a rival daemon could do if it ever gained such a terrible power as would be granted were all the missing elements of his essence to be recovered.

Tzeentch bestowed the extra intelligence of the Scribes with safeguards against betrayal; P'tarix can transcribe the syllables of magic spells into profane Chaos runes and glyphs, but cannot read his own writings. Xirat'p can read his brother's scrawls, but cannot understand them.

Because of this, Xirat'p is able to cast spells by reading from P'tarix's writings, but cannot predict which spell he is going to cast; thus, the Blue Scribes create havoc in combat as they unleash a barrage of random psychic effects on any who threaten them.

Since then, the Blue Scribes have appeared across the Warp, throughout time, and in the remotest corners of the galaxy as they search for lost grimoires or skilled practitioners of sorcery to interrogate. Their peregrinations often lead the Blue Scribes to the battlefields of realspace, where the two invariably end up aiding the side which has Tzeentch's favour, whether the recipients of this largesse know it or not.

P'tarix siphons the power of enemy psykers to learn and catalogue their secrets whilst Xirat'p unleashes a sorcerous barrage by reading from the huge collection of scrolls they have collected through the millennia, always arguing with his twin about which spell to use next. If a foe happens to get close enough to strike them in melee, the Blue Horrors will begin to blame each other for allowing such a terrible situation to occur, all the while keeping their attackers at bay with petulant stabs of their quills.

On the rare occasions they best a foe in such a way at close quarters, inevitable arguments begin about which of the pair was more heroic. Should the Blue Scribes' improvised weapons prove ineffective, however -- as they usually do -- they will hastily make their escape upon their Disc of Tzeentch, careening off in search of easier wins.

It is fortunate for the mortal races of the galaxy that the pair are almost constantly interrupted in their quest by the conflicts of Tzeentch's enemies and by each other, for if they ever complete their mission, Tzeentch will regain his supremacy and once more rule over all Creation.

Tarix fanida, boshqa fanlarda boʻlganidek, muqarrar ixtisoslashuv amalga oshmoqda. Hozirgi zamon tarix fani alohida boʻlimlar va sohalardan tashkil topgan bilimlar majmuidir. Ixtisoslashish darajasiga koʻra, ularni bir necha guruhga ajratish mumkin. Birinchi guruhni jamiyatning (jahon tarixi) butun va alohida tomonlarini oʻrganuvchi boʻlim va sohalar tashkil qiladi.
