Join us for a Thinkwalks exploration in the Marina District and Presidio of San Francisco! Reserve by replying. 10 spots left. Cost: At the end of your Thinkwalk, please make a donation on a sliding scale to support my educational work and keep me in SF. Suggested is $10 to $40 per person, based on what you can afford, to be paid by Venmo, cash, check, PayPal, golden beets, bitten coin, etc.

Was the Palace of Fine Arts Lagoon once natural? Where did people get their water before Hetch Hetchy systems? Where do they get it now? (Not a trick question!) For these and more intrigue, come along! Share your thoughts and learn about water.

We'll visit springs, creeks, and historical marsh areas in the northeast part of the Presidio with an eye toward understanding the natural hydrology of the city as a whole and how it fits together with the social history.

10 a.m. Sept 2 , 2024 (Monday, Labor Day)
Duration: 3 hours, up to 5 miles.

Some of us plan to picnic afterwards for those who wish to join us, near Tunnel Tops.
This will be a combination of casual (medium-paced) hike and discussion, through varying soils and terrain.
The group will be 14 people maximum.

We’ll meet on Lyon Street; exact spot will be emailed a couple days ahead to people who’ve signed up.

Reserve by replying!
