Hello,

I am a potential developer for GSOC'15. I am very excited to work on ThinkUp's Android App.
I have a 2-year experience in android.
Following are some of my apps in android:

I would like to develop an android app for thinkUp.
Could you please give the details of what exactly will the android app hope to achieve. Any specific design considerations etc.
Similarly, how should I contribute to ThinkUp's codebase?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I think you'll find this previous thread useful:

Thanks for the reply.

I read the thread which you had posted above.
And it is even more exciting for me to work on an entirely new project. I think my android development skills would be good for such a project.
I have cloned the source and I am trying to understand it.
Can you please tell me what features will you be looking for from the app.
The general idea which i have about the app is that  implementation will be calling remote api scripts using HttpUrlConnection and visual representation of the responses.
I am going in the right direction ?
If not please guide me so as what are you looking for in the app in a little more details.

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

I had a doubt regarding the android app.
After a particular user has registered for thinkup we have his data on the backend.
Are there API's written so that the app can query them and get data which is to be shown in the app ?

Sadly ThinkUp did not get accepted as a mentoring organization in GSoC 2015.

We'd love it if you still wanted to work on an Android app.

To answer your question, yes, ThinkUp does provide an insights API with authentication via a token. It isn't documented but you can see how the Chrome extension calls it here:
