I was just wondering if a public release of the current master is still being planned?

Hi Luke,

Sorry for the delay on a user package release. Developers can do a git pull from the master branch right now and get the latest code; no need to wait for the OTA.

The status hasn't changed since May, when I posted this:

Before I issue an "over-the-air" update release I'd like to do more testing and hear from people self-hosting the current code that they were able to install ThinkUp, connect accounts, change their settings, get insights, run the crawler, etc.

Again this is a massive update that will break existing insights, stop crawling several networks (Foursquare, Google+, etc), and introduce several sections of the app that aren't laid out/designed very well, so I'm taking it slow until I hear from the community everyone's ready for that.

Post here if you're running the code in the master branch and how it's gone so far.

Thanks all,
Gina

Hello Gina:

I am on the master branch as of Nov 16.  I had some issues with the installation missing tables.  I am not sure why they did not load into the database at installation but I was able to determine the problem was with PHP versioning on the host.  Ultimately the solution was to use a terminal and run the upgrade database script.  Since then the Facebook App setting are terribly confusing and I see many questions with very few explicit answers.  Does anyone have a documented process?  Has anyone gotten an app approval from facebook for the current master branch?  Well, thats how it is going at the moment and I'm hoping to see a facebook solution soon!  Thanks,  Rich

At ThinkUp.com, we applied for and received approval from Facebook for the hosted app. (Free trial! Sign up now!) Back in the spring, we completed a breathless development sprint to update ThinkUp's crawler to work with the Graph API 2.3, which is a lot more restricted than the previous version. Facebook's approval process is new, and yes, it takes time. We were in a rush to launch, so we didn't have time to document the instructions in the OSP. Is anyone in the community willing and available to help?
