should the ts:dd rake task keep running while re-indexing

Hi,

Have a quick question surrounding using delayed deltas and running a full re-index.  We have the rake ts:dd task running, and run a full re-index  every hour (using rake ts:rebuild).  Should the ts:dd task be terminated while the full reindex is happening, or can it safely keep running during this time?

Thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon

I'm actually a little surprised this question hasn't been asked before. Now that I think about it, it's probably best that delta indexing doesn't happen during the full index (although the impact if both happen at once is very likely negligible). That said, having the two processes aware of each other could be a little tricky.

I guess at this point, I'm not planning on writing any patches to handle these situations, but feel free to take a stab at it yourself if you're keen.
