TG Update

[Think Girl]

Hi!

It was brought to my attention that I posted the wrong date for our
next meeting. It will be Monday, September 1 - AJ's Cafe in Ferndale
at 7pm.

Before then we'll be holding our next book club. This time we’ll be
reading "Communion: The Female Search for Love" by bell hooks. The
event will be held August 31, 4pm @ Goldfish Tea in Royal Oak, MI.
Everyone is welcome to join us even if you don’t have time to read the
book. Goldfish Tea is located at 117 West 4th Street in downtown Royal
Oak.

We are still accepting submission for "I Was There" - our feminist
history project.

Think Girl asks women of all ages, races and backgrounds to submit
stories of their work as activists for women’s issues. (Think: A
Radical Chicken Soup for the Feminist Soul.) These first person
stories of strength, perseverance and courage will serve as
inspiration to women and girls as they continue their work in or enter
the movement.

Guidelines are simple…it’s your story, tell it however you want. We’re
looking for submissions to be between 500 - 2000 words. Pictures of
you or from an event are a plus, we’ll post those on along with your
piece.
