Driving In-Store Visits from Customers Nearby

This week, we’ll be looking at some of the trends that we see when Malaysians are thinking about visiting a business near their location. With the advent of location-based services, it is now easy to tell when potential customers are nearby - we can take advantage of this to drive them to your store.

Customers Plan their Destinations On-the-Go and Value Location Convenience

When we take a look at all Google searches for “ _____ near me”, we see that 76% of these searches are now happening on mobile versus on desktop. This shows that the window of opportunity to coax them into visiting your store depends on the ease and speed at which they can find their way to you.

Food “Near Me” is what’s Top of Mind when Malaysians are Looking for Nearby Outlets

Many Malaysians searching for a nearby restaurant have actually not decided on where they will grab a bite, because they search for “restaurants near me.” Those who have decided on specific restaurants are searching for popular fast food options. Other than food, other services that Malaysians tend to want to visit quickly and conveniently are hotels, florists, and gyms.

Directing Consumers to Your Business When They are Close By is Key

76% of Malaysian searches are demanding services that they need to reach quickly and easily. It will be crucial to make sure any mobile ads available provide clear and easy directions to your store when they search for you.

If you are running mobile ads, do make sure to implement location and call extensions to make sure consumers can find their way to you easily. You can also read more about them here!
