Foundedin 1980 by husband and wife duo Pran and Annisha Shree, Shree Property Holdings is a family owned and operated business. The family owned business was born out of a retail butchery and evolved into a distributor of local and imported meat products in the region, however in 1999 the family recognised an opportunity in the market and diversified into the cold storage of citrus products.

In 2007, the company was officially established as a property development company and today, has an extensive property portfolio in Durban comprising of 56 properties. Shree Property Holdings' investment in the Dube TradePort Trade Zone is significant, not only for the magnitude of the investment, but also in that this is the first private sector investment in the TradePort. Once again, Shree is one step ahead of the market, and prepared to lead the way by taking up 23 Dube TradePort sites for a 60 000 and 20 000 square metre developments under roof.

Although there is a strong presence of Shree Property Holdings properties and highly innovative warehouses within Durban''s south basin, the company is continuously scanning the market for property opportunities that meet the design of the current warehouse portfolio.

Shree Property Holdings advantageously positioned its new developments in close proximity to the proposed Port dig-out by acquiring a sizeable amount of space in Southgate Industrial Park in the newly hyped area of Umbogintwini.

Shree Property Holdings remains a family business, with Pran as CEO and his wife Annisha as Financial Director. Their daughter Sanam has recently joined the business as New Business and Investment Manager, while their sons Mayur and Pavan have been involved in the business for several years, as Managing Director & Chief Information Officer and Marketing and New Developments Manager respectively.

Integrity and customer service was the goal that founders envisioned when they started the company in 2007. Today, this mission is more important than ever to their customers in South Africa and around the world. They work hard every day in all their ventures to deliver on this promise. The entire team operates with the same level of integrity and respect that the founders put in place. It is due to this value system and culture that Shreeprop continues to make a difference in the lives of their customers, staff and associates.

I have residential property on my Father's name in a housing sciety. Before this society comes in Gram panchayat. Now due to city expansion this society is in city boundries. My Father passed away two year back and now Iwant to sell the house but buyer wants me to transfer the property to my mother's name, then only buyer will buy the property. When I inquired about changing the name, I was told that this property is under "Shree Sarkar" so I cannot change the name unless it is release by the city. we own this property since 1991 and from last 15 year we are paying tax to city.

Dube TradePort, situated 30km north of central Durban and home to King Shaka International Airport, has attracted private sector investment totalling R560 million to date, which may be partly attributed to the boldness of Durban-based property development company, Shree Property Holdings for its decision to become the precinct's first private investor.

So said the MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Michael Mabuyakhulu, during a function to mark construction commencement of the company's warehousing at the Dube TradeZone, immediately adjacent the airport and cargo terminal.

Commenting, Mr Mabuyakhulu said: "The company's investment decision was, I believe, a clear indicator to the business community that Dube TradePort is a great place in which to invest and in which to conduct business. I regard their decision as a massive vote of confidence in the precinct."

Shree Property Holdings has committed R560 million to investment in distribution warehousing for logistics tenants, taking up 21 Dube TradeZone sites for its massive 60 000 square metre undertaking. Construction follows a deal brokered in February this year for a multi-phased development approach. Indications are that an initial 12 000 square metre first phase is to be constructed, taking about six months, increasing to some 18 000 square metres in a second round of development, scheduled to take an additional six months to complete.

"The Group's facilities will, themselves, have a significant impact on the economy and the creation of employment. Construction is envisaged to stimulate the establishment of 987 new jobs. These jobs come with the added benefit of vital up-skilling and knowledge transfer. When these facilities become operational, an additional 750 employment opportunities will come on-stream," said Mr Mabuyakhulu.

"In less than a year, the private sector has demonstrated exceptional support for the Dube TradePort initiative," he said of the province's foremost infrastructural development and one which, Mr Mabuyakhulu said "best evidences the National Government's commitment to infrastructural development on a massive scale in South Africa."

Around the world, airports are today becoming points of important stimulus for business and Mr Mabuyakhulu said: "We recognised that areas which were fast and agile places in which to do business and which displayed superior connectivity would be capable of attracting new investment. We know, too, that the way of the future and the way to guarantee the business community speed, agility and connectivity is embedded in the development of airport cities."

Dube TradePort is just such an airport city and the embryonic core of Aerotropolis:KZN, marking the evolvement of Southern Africa's premier air logistics platform in KwaZulu-Natal. With the development of Dube TradePort, KwaZulu-Natal has significantly intensified its strategic trade and business position. With the uptake of investment opportunities and continued business interest in locating at Dube TradePort, Mr Mabuyakhulu stressed: "We have an exceptional and highly competitive business operating environment, with King Shaka International Airport at its centre. This is a business area capable of attracting a diverse range of new investors, operators, tenants and users. This is the future of business in KwaZulu-Natal."
