Pepsiman was created by scientists reverse-engineering the "living metal" that made up the bodies of the Transformers in order to create mechanical life. A humanoid android was decided to be the first prototype of this technology before the scientists would attempt a full-fledged Transformer. The experiment proved successful and Pepsiman was the first human-created sentient mechanical being. The scientists congratulated themselves and wished Pepsiman good fortune in his new life.

Pepsiman gained an inexplicable love of Pepsi and would risk life and limb to provide Pepsi to others, as well as fighting greater evils. He would later be joined by a second effort at creating a mechanical lifeform using Cybetronian technology, his brother Pepsi Convoy, who's truck mode Pepsiman often uses for transportation.

Through their heroic efforts, Pepsi Man and Pepsi Convoy eventually caught the attention of Derp Cat Legion, who offered him a place within their ranks. They happily agreed to this, and soon became valued members of the organization, eventually reaching the rank of Sergeant and Commander respectively.

Despite this recruitment, Pepsi Man and Pepsi Convoy stayed true to their brand, and the DCL would allow him the freedom to operate independently as a superhero outside of situations where he was absolutely needed, and to distribute Pepsi to anyone in need.
