Good morning everyone!

We will be having our May meeting on Monday, May 11th at the home of Tom and Daphne Cover.  We will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the deck for a cookout and discussion of our Spring Gardens, Development of the length of the Trolley Trail and plans for the future design of our club.

We have invited a guest speaker who is involved in community development of gardens and urban parks and we are waiting to see if she will be able to join us.

Please plan to attend and bring an addition to the meal.

In June, we have been invited to attend the annual garden walk in Catonsville.  It is scheduled for Sunday, June 7th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  More details will be forthcoming.

In July, we will have our meeting on Monday July 6th (first Monday) at the home of Fred Hitchcock, our neighbor who has an amazing garden, koi pond and is the propagator of gorgeous and unique day lilies. We will have a potluck at his home, tour his gardens and be treated to a program he has prepared on "Gardening from under your sink."

It is the gardening time of year!!  Please mark your calendar for all of these fun events!

If you have any questions, please call Daphne at (410) 440-0342.

See you soon,

Daphne Cover, President
Jeff Teeters, Vice-President
Melissa Moore, Sec/Treas.

This is Jeff Teeters from the Ten Hills Garden Club. Becky Brower gave me your contact information. I'm texting you in regards to our mutual interest in community development. I've been leading an effort to improve a long median along Edmondson Ave in Ten Hills for many years, planting and maintaining native trees along with shrubs , bulbs and ground covers, a mulched walking path, community signs and more. Recently, other neighbors have begun tend two adjacent blocks. The potential to create a contiguous urban park system is very possible. I understand that your organization is involved in such projects and can provide guidance and assistance in this endeavor. Our local Garden Club is meeting on Monday, June11th @ 6:30 at the home of our club President, Daphne Cover which is directly across the street from the Trolley Garden. I'd like to extend an invitation to attend, look over our project, tell us about your organization and its mission and offer your advice. Contact me to discuss my proposal and I'll relay the address for our garden club meeting. Look forward to hearing from you. Jeff

Greetings Garden Club,

I have just dug a wheel-barrow full of Brown-Eyed Susans.
The wheel barrow is on my back patio at 513 Old Orchard. Bring pots or a box and help yourself.

These cool rainy days are perfect for transplanting them.

The Brown-Eyed Susan’s are an exuberant native relative of the black-eyed susan.  They are biennial, and self-seed reliably once established. Good for pollinators. Mine are just beginning to bloom and will continue to bloom all summer.

Wishing you a joyful spring planting!

Mary Stuart

Hi Everyone,

I hope that everyone is enjoying a lovely Mother's Day!

This is a reminder that we have a Garden Club meeting tomorrow evening (May 11th) at 6:30 p.m.  We will meet on the back deck of Tom and Daphne's home (5109 Edmondson Ave).

The weather forecast has improved.  It looks like there will be no precipitation tomorrow and about 60 degrees at the time of our meeting.  Be sure to wear a sweater, sweatshirt or light jacket so you are comfortable.

Tom has ordered some different kinds of meats from Mission Barbeque.   Beverages will also be provided.  Please bring a salad, side or dessert to share.

Please RSVP if you can (Daphn...@gmail.com), so we know how many to expect.

We look forward to seeing you soon!!
