So I have a similar problem. I've loaded the mp3 file to the ringtones folder in the root level. Also to the media>audio>ringtones folder. I've verified they are there. So, how do I get my Droid Razr to recognize that the file is there? It doesn't show up on my phone's ringtones list in settings. I've done a complete shutdown thinking that maybe it will force the phone to re-scan everything, but no joy.
Hi there, I use LOS 16 on either my Galxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4, on both all is running perfect. As there are some funny ringtones, I would like to apply them on my P10 plus. Problem: I can't find the folder with these ringtones, the usual places such as /system/media/ringtones/ do not contain what i am looking for. Can anybody help me here?
Keep in mind that, residing on /system, this place is read-only at best without root-access: so while you should be able to copy from here, you cannot place any files into this directory. If you want to manually add ringtones to your device, rather create a similar directory on your SDcard (/sdcard/media/audio, with sub-directories for ringtones, alarms, notifications, etc.). This location should be recognized automatically by the Android system.

Hi I'd like to add to this. I have the same issue with my nest doorbell. The settings to change the ringtones have disappeared from the device options in settings. I have a wired doorbell and it's 2 years old. Please help if you can!
