Hi, is everyone OK?   It's just it's all gone quiet and I expect you're all busy but just thought I'd check in...

 

I haven't kept Jo's last email but is someone meant to be blogging today?   Julie did you manage to fill the slots?   I could perhaps rustle up something if need be but definitely won't be a masterpiece...

 

Anyway, keep cool, and dry if the rain is where you are.  None in Brighton yet but forecast for later on.  Garden could do with it.

Happy Birthday, Jackie!   Sounds like you're in need of some TLC and a fun time with all that's been happening with you, so I hope you get it and have a brilliant birthday.

 

I hate my NWS novel too!  is there anyone who doesn't, I wonder.  The trouble is I keep having different ideas as to what should happen next and then I sleep on them and find they aren't right after all.  One viewpoint has been in and out of the book faster than a fiddler's elbow and about to go back in again!

 

So, what with taking bits out and putting them in again, being slowed down by trapped nerves and then this blessed heat I am still only around the 28K word mark so it will be a partial for me this year, and a last-minute one at that.

 

Maybe I'll think of something for a blog post today.  Not sure what though...

 

Well, get high on the lurid cupcakes Jackie, and hope you enjoy your holiday.  Funnily enough we've just booked a little holiday in Devon, Salcombe, for September.  Will only be for 4 nights as we had a holiday earlier in the year and I have got tickets for the Lowry exhibition at Tate Britain for the end of that week.

Think I've missed some emails as haven't heard anything for a while either. Had no time to do anything all week really, as end of school stuff for Rosie ( off to senior school next term) seemed to go on forever and a good friend of my husband's died unexpectedly, so it's been filling all of our spare time as his wife is in bits as you can imagine. 

Summer hols have kicked in, my sister from Australia is coming to stay with two of her grandchildren and my niece is getting married next month only to find the hotel where we are all staying for the wedding has shut down!!! So we are all trying to find alternative accommodation and trying to STAY CALM. ( at least the wedding wasn't there but I think a fair bit of money will be lost)

Still haven't finished my  NWS novel ( Hate it, hate it, hate it!!) and have turned to displacement activities so the house is quite tidy!

Off to Devon for a week next week and hope to take my rotten novel with me and finally put it to bed- or throw it off a cliff!.

Think I was going to do a blog, but really sorry haven't had a minute to think of what it was about- let alone write it.

On the upside, it's my birthday today and husband has bought me a shiny new camera as I lost my old one. ( see earlier blog!!) Daughter has made me lurid pink cupcakes with icing about an inch thick (!!) and we are going out to lunch. 

Will keep in touch and try to write said blog for next week if needed.

OOh you could be right Jackie.  I've not had anything bounce back and I wrote to the group and when I received yours the group is listed as being recipient as well as only me, but this could be a random thing. Well we shall see!

Think this email only went out you as it has bounced on the 'writeromantics CC bit. Not sure how to remedy this as I think it's been happening to my emails a fair bit and didn't I see someone else was having trouble? Lovely to hear from you. Yes it has been a bit quiet. I know Julie's away but coming back today I think and I'm fairly sure Jo's about to head off to Florida (lucky lady!). I've been insanely busy with the day job and I'm on my way to London for the weekend to see my sister and my lovely nephew.

I hate my NWS submission now, but it has been nice to have the support from ROMNA cos I've still been mulling over whether to rejoin or not but I think I will cos of the help from romna.

We're doing the same as you Deidre and having a few days away in norfolk, I wondered if anyone is near enough to meet up for a coffee? It'll be around the august bank holiday. Doesn't Julie live in Norfolk? It would be nice to meet then meet the southern lot later in the year in Covent Garden so I'll at least have met some of you.

I should be helping with the blog and have had one in mind for yonks about words but just want to find out one more bit before I do. I found writing in the heat almost impossible too. It was too hot for me!!
