Hi all,

I have tried to comment on our blog twice now, and I post, but the comments still say 0. Is something wrong with it? Can someone have a go, just to see if it is just my laptop getting to hot.

Hi Lorraine,

For some reason the blog has decided to treat all comments as spam.  I've been through the spam filter and found a few other comments which clearly aren't spam including one from Julie.  We'll probably just have to keep an eye on it. If comments aren't getting through to the blog then they'll be either in spam or pending.  And if you release a comment from spam it still needs to be approved in the pending box which is a little annoying. Hopefully it's just a blip and it'll got back to working properly soon.

Hi all, oooppppsss I have just apologised to Julie for missing the blog, I've just had a bit of a weekend with my mother, I can't remember if I mentioned her before.

Basically she's totally infatuated with one of her lodgers, she's 84 and rents rooms out in salisbury and a 40 yr old italian chap lives there who she adores. She lets him live rent free, paid off his baliff's debt bought him an almost new car, everywhere we go we have to buy claudio expensive things like jumpers from crew clothing. 

Anyway, on saturday he went to a barbecue and didn't take her. I think she thinks she's been buying his friendship & loyalty & because the barbecue was held by a former tenant she felt obliged to be invited, and she wasn't and she was sooooo upset. She is a very rude and difficult woman, she hates any kids, even her own grandhildren, and just doesn't bother with them and never has. She hates men and says so loudly and frequently with the exception of claudio and others who are useful to her (like her son in laws) and I suspect that's why she wasn't invited.

I've been telling her for years to get her own social life but she doesn't like going out unless she's driven there & back. So I suggest any number of clubs, she's really good at french & there's a french club, or she could be a warden in a national trust house & she can afford a tax but anything I suggest she always has a reason why it wouldn't work.

GGggrrrhhh!!! I am taking her to a vintage fabric sale tomorrow in Dorchester which is a perfect day out I reckon, hopefully she's talk about something else except claudio & loneliness for a change.

It does feel better to tell you, hope you don't mind! I've also had an upset tum, but it's on the way out now.

Jo I read your email the other day about being in the NWS possibly only another year. I'm the same, I'm not sure whether to join next year or not. What I'm writing now is a book about a social worker in child care but as well as the clients it's how her own history affects her work, sort of Jodi Picoult/Cathy Glass, she says hoping it's even a gazillionth like either!

I hope all is good with you all?  To make life easier for Lynne while I am away, I have created the interviews for the 29^th July and 5^th August and uploaded these to the blog already, with the dates of publication scheduled, so that they will appear automatically.  All you will then need to do, please Lynne, is to promo them from the blog on Twitter and Facebook on the date of publication (log on for WordPress, Facebook and Twitter is: thewrite...@hotmail.co.uk and password: Newwriters2013) and email the two interviewees to remind them please.   When the promo is tweeted, it would also be great to include the Twitter address of the interviewee and the tag #MondayBlogs.  The email addresses and Twitter handles (if that’s what they’re called!) for the two interviewees are as below:

I won’t be back and posting until Monday 19^th August.  However, I have not yet received the Monday interviews for Victoria Parker or Jennifer Hayward, so I am unable to schedule these yet (please see attached due dates).  Lorraine, please could you confirm the situation with respect to these?  If we cannot access Victoria’s in the next day or two, it might be easier for me to move Isabella Connor’s date forward (as I already have this interview in my inbox) and then everything will be set up for when I am away.

On another note, if we are going to carry on with the Monday interviews, it would be great if we could think about whether there are other writers or aspiring authors amongst our networks who might consider being added to the list from late September onwards.  Please let me know if you have a contact who might be interested.  Tomorrow's interview is with Elle Turner, an NWS aspiring author, so please do pop by and say "Hi" if you get the chance before the next Wednesday Wondering.

I have a really mad week this week getting everything ready to go away on holiday and so I probably won’t be emailing or responding much blog-wise, until I get back.  As such, I won't be doing any responses to the Wednesday Wonderings during that period, sorry Julie!  Have a great few weeks everyone and I will speak to you all in mid-August.
