We are delighted to share with you the recording of the launch event for From Prospective to Prepared Teacher: A Global Study of Initial Teacher Education, co-hosted by the World Bank Group and the Center for Global Development.
During this session we presented the report’s five principles for effective initial teacher education (ITE) systems, drawing on evidence and case studies from across the globe. We also heard directly from Linda Darling-Hammond (Founding President and Chief Knowledge Officer, Learning Policy Institute) on the global evidence for effective ITE, David Sani Mwanza (University of Zambia) and Ancell Scheker Mendoza (Ministry of Education, Dominican Republic) on the politics and practice of ambitious ITE reform, and Antonia Wulff (Education International) on how the teaching profession can drive quality improvement from within.
