To the Wise, who has known the Self,
all the Knowledge is of as much use,
as is a reservoir of water
in a place where there is flood everywhere.
(Adopted from the Bhagavad Gita)

TWIST: There are a variety of ways one can interpret this. Before reading ahead, I suggest you spend some time reflecting on it yourself.

• In a place filled with flood of information, a small reservoir of knowledge is no match. It's like a few drops in a ocean. The flood gobbles up the reservoir. No knowledge is a match to the knowledge of the Self.
• Knowledge of the Self is so omni-present that it replaces all knowledge one possesses.
• How much ever one knows about one's self, there is always a need to go back to the reservoir of knowledge - because in a flood, one cannot quench the thirst with the flooded water, we then depend on a clean reservoir that can help. Think of it as a routine knowledge-health-check of the Self.
  
• A reservoir is generally a stock of static water. Once in a while, expect a flood to destroy it's banks. This gives us an opportunity to recreate a fresh new reservoir.
  
• Self knowledge and just-any-knowledge are not very different. They are transitive. Sometimes the reservoir can create a flood and at times a flood can replenish a reservoir.
