Mi Wallpaper Carousel is the official app from Xiaomi for setting up a precious carousel of HD photos as your lock screen. This way, when you unlock your smartphone each day, you'll see a new photo.
From the Mi Wallpaper Carousel settings, you can change the frequency with which the lock screen photos change, whether it be every day or every two hours. You can also choose to download the wallpapers only when you're connected to WiFi.
From the options menu, you can select the photo categories that interest you most, and you can even create a folder of favorite wallpapers. Any photo you put in your favorites folder will show up more often.
Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.
Xiaomi's custom MIUI skin is one of the most feature-packed on the Android market. While extra functionality on top of Android can be handy, you may not always want to use these features. One of the additional features launched with the MIUI 12.5 update is Wallpaper Carousel, which displays dynamic wallpapers on your Xiaomi device's lock screen.
Although handy if you'd like to have dynamic wallpapers, this feature can drain your battery fast if enabled. If you want to disable and uninstall Wallpaper Carousel, you've come to the right place. Read on to learn how.
Wallpaper Carousel comes in handy, but the feature also serves ads which may be why you want to turn it off completely. If ads are getting on your nerves, here's a handy guide on how to disable ads on your Xiaomi smartphone.
Remember, while you can turn off Wallpaper Carousel via Settings, the icon will still live on your lock screen. The only way to also remove the icon is to uninstall the app. And it's not just Wallpaper Carousel; you can uninstall pre-installed Android apps on your Xiaomi device without root.
With Wallpaper Carousel uninstalled, the lock screen icon will disappear. If you wish to use the functionality in the future, you can download the Mi Wallpaper Carousel app like you would download any Android app from the Google Play Store.
If the app is unavailable, you might want to change your region in the Google Play Store first to download it. Don't be surprised if you can't download Wallpaper Carousel; there are reasons you can't download certain apps from Google Play Store.
Custom Android skins come in handy when you want more features than what stock Android offers. However, they also have their downsides. Luckily, thanks to Android's customizability, you don't have to use certain functionalities baked into your device. You can always disable what you don't want and keep the essentials.

I would like to see a way to disable the feature which allows iPhone users to change wallpapers from Lock Screen. I somehow keep changing it by accident and I struggle to get it back to the way I want it to look. Not something I find useful anyway. Thanks.
This is the worst. I use apple for privacy and consistency. Allow me to disable this crap now. I am happy setting my screens in settings, like normal. Too bad it decides by scanning my face, without asking, moderately unlocking my phone, and then changing by stuff via my pocket fingers. How did this not get alpha tested? Surely we aren't the beta test. C'mon y'all...
As I jog holding my locked phone, the lock screen now changes on its own. Then when I need to glance at my phone to do something quickly while I'm jogging, like change the song or check a text or god forbid call 911, I find I'm in a maze of wallpaper and need to back out, and there's no simple escape key. I really hate this feature, and wish there was a way to disable it.
This is awful and the customization does not work properly either. I touch nothing, wake up, and the wallpaper is gone on the home screen, have to go in and re-select and it does now show that i am using one pic for the lock screen and another for the home screen, no way to unpair, and the touch feature MUST be disabled. this is by far the worst feature change ever.
It is LITERALLY called a LOCK screen. You should be able to at LEAST configure it to disable anything on it because it is LOCKED. I don't want ANYTHING on my phone accessible when it is LOCKED except for the ability to UNLOCK it. The obsession with adding crap to the LOCK screen is to the point of being absurd. In any case, last night my phone decided to f'ing change the wallpaper in my pocket by way of my thigh pressing the screen because derp. (smdh).
Are you kidding me! We are on the Apple Support Community forum! Hahahaha! Apple wants us to fill out a comment card, too? Y'all are changing and not for the better. I can't believe Apple would pay to host a forum for SUPPORT, then refuse to look at it. I filled out your "feedback" card, but why don't you just send me an email address where I can link an engineer to this page? That seems far more reasonable.
Why would you make different ways for your customers to report issues with a product? I use Apple because normally, and historically, they did the best and made my life easier. That's a terrible response to a long line of posts. I hope you don't work for them and are just trying to be helpful to the group.
Please, offer the option for we disable the long press to customize in lock screen of iphone. Many times a day i accidentally long press the home screen when unlocking the phone and it is very annoying. This happen with me and all my others family that use iphone.
Why is this an option? Every time I look at my phone it looks different. I learned I fidget and flip my phone a lot more than I thought I did. Going into the settings menu was never complicated or time consuming. Why do I now have to close the wallpaper selector every time I need to do anything on my phone. This entirely ruins one big plus with iPhone. I can simplify everything so it is easy to read and not overstimulating.
Once the background.xml file has been generated, right-click on the desktop, select Change Background Image, click Add..., then navigate to the directory containing the XML file. Just above the "Open" button change the selector from "Image" to "All files", then select the background.xml file and click on the "Open" button. The file can be renamed to be more descriptive, such as my_family.xml, landscapes-3.xml, etc., allowing one to have multiple slide show playlists.
Ok here is how I did it, which is probably not the best way to do it but it worked and I didn't have to install anything to do it. Back in 11.10 I found the below python script (slideshow.py) which generates a slideshow.xml file (run from directory with the images in it). This is still the file needed in 12.04 but you also need another XML file. Put the XML file generated by slideshow.py script in /usr/share/backgrounds/contest and chown it to root. Once that is done you'll need to run the second python script (wallpapers.py) which was adapted from the first. Put the file generated from wallpapers.py in /usr/share/gnome-background-properties and again chown it to root. At that point you should be able to go into "System Settings" -> Appearance and pick your slideshow or any of the pics in it.
According to this OMG! Ubuntu post, you have for example 'Wallpaper Gallery'. It takes as input data tagged photos from your Shotwell gallery. Therefore it becomes very easy to add & remove photos for instance.
contains everything. Your file must begin with it and end with . It's called the root tag.
defines when the diaporama starts. A precise date must be given, any date.
contains the definition of a still image.
is used to fade from one image to the other.
gives in seconds the time during witch the picture is displayed or the fading time.
contains a single image to show as still.
and contain single images which are respectively the one at the beginning and at the end of a fading.
