             All:

This web page shows before and after satellite pictures of various coastal areas in Japan.  Move your cursor over the images to control the before:after split.  Best presentation I've ever seen of this kind of imaging.

 

 

Amazing losses, amazing power of nature.  It will take years to 'complete' the cleanup.  Sad…….

 

To keep this in perspective, a difference of 1.0 on the (fairly obsolete) Richter scale is a factor of 31.6 in energy.  So if you've been in a 7.0 (pretty big), this earthquake released 1000 times more energy.
