Various dingage, congrats in order!

Hey folks -

This Wednesday evening (26th) we concluded the expedition to "Entatratradesh" which was undertaken by Aila, Birel, Kallista and Tagariel. Suffice to say it may not have gone exactly as expected but they will have some interesting news to report once they make their way back to the Lakeside Inn (they've been safely back in the valley for a few days so I'm sure they'll make it along soon). As a result of this little expedition, Aila, Birel, Kallista and Tagariel have dinged and have now joined Bran at the giddy heights of level two.

I've come to realise that I need to track XP more effectively - partly because otherwise I won't remember what's going on, and also because I should make sure I'm being consistent. I also realised that awarding nominal XP for other enterprises conducted in-character away from the gaming table would be the decent thing to do. In that vein, I have awarded everyone who took part in the survey from Kazkan's Farm 50 XP, and also I've chucked 50XP at Tagariel for his in-character decision to study the Black Path, on the basis that both of these have advanced the main "story" (such as it is) and improved people's knowledge of the world. This also means that Zardan has acquired XP in spite of not actually having a settled character sheet or having played at the table (Rico, can we get him to join us in the near future?)

I'm keeping a list of who has accomplished what in a spreadsheet, which (one time only!) I will share - see the attachment on this thread / mail. It's an ODS file from Libre Office but for those of you on the dark side it should also work with Excel. Looking at this I can see that there's a fair spread of XP based on who has been on which expeditions / trips, but a few more of you aren't too far away from leveling up. Also, if any of you are planning alts, let me know.

Finally, there are a few of you who have come up with characters who have not yet played - it would be great to bring you in soon, summer plans permitting!

While I was talking to Evie this afternoon I realised that I never added the XP from the last session - see the write up by Jacquie at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/thevalleyrpg/xpstXNiHD-o - to my spreadsheet. Everyone who was on that session got 190XP, based on the highly advanced metric of plucking a finger out of mid-air that felt about right for exploration (150XP per person) plus splitting four kenku's worth of XP between the five of you.

I have some good news - Briar the halfling cleric has now reached level 2! (Jacquie if you want any help leveling up let me know).

Effie, Xyrxina and Brys are a hair's breadth away from leveling up, realistically they're pretty much guaranteed to level up the next time they go out into the world. So that's neat :)

Ok guys, number one rule for next session... If a Bard with a dark past turns up, just kill her straight off as :-

1. It will get us enough xp to ding

2. She would only get us all killed anyhow 😂

It's the only way to be sure.

Dingage! I forgot to mention...

After the trip out where they explored the Fox temple and found a goblin settlement beyond the hills, Brys, Effi and Xyrxina have reached level 2 - congratulations on gaining new shiny powers, which I'm sure you will all use responsibly.

After the recent trip out to the snowy mountains and other places, Dramble has reached level 2 - congratulations, I'm sure you will use your new powers respon... ah, who am I kidding?

OK so it looks like I've forgotten to update this thread on  the forum... good job I have my trusty spreadsheet otherwise I'd be in all kinds of trouble.

After various activities in and around Taurhopa, an expedition to Black Crag and an incident at Creller which has yet to come to light, I can confirm the following ding-age:

Xyrxina has reached level 5 - congratulations on... *checks notes* your +1 to your proficiency bonus and your extra attack. Oh God.

Newt has reached level 4 - you can take an ability score increase or a feat, awesome.

Aila, Dramble and Kallista remain at level 4 but there's not far to go now.
