I would laugh if a JLD movie materialized before the JLA movie.

If Del Toro couldn't get his Lovecraft movie made, there's little to no chance he'll get this off the ground.

It's silly to even entertain this, since neither movie will ever happen.  BUT... the fact that Guardians of the Galaxy exists (or is about to) will be a powerful indicator of how this can go. Will people respond to characters they haven't seen on lunchboxes their whole lives?

You can stick Iron Man or Sam Jackson into any Marvel movie and people will get worked up, but who are you going to use to unite the DC films? Green Lantern? The Joker is the only DC movie thing anyone's really liked for the last ten years. You going to have the Joker giggling at the end of every preview? Six misfits (shots of Demon, Zatanna, etc) unite to combat the greatest evil of them all (um...Abra Kadabra?), but is there an X Factor? Cut to the Joker's glove and a voiceover cackle. Cue screaming audience!
