Hi Guys,
I am trying to find out a way to analyze real time data accuracy. Has anyone ever gathered this information? We are trying to find predictions accuracy for all the stops. Any information will be great.

Hi,

TheTransitClock has a number of ways of looking at prediction accuracy. It looks at the error value at different horizons.

It does this type of analysis for the predictions it generates and can also be used to look at the quality of predictions generated by other systems.

You can see some screenshots in the transiTime (open source version has been rebranded to TheTransitClock) slides in this presentation.

Cheers,

Sean.

Hi,

Thank you so much for the response. How can I signup with transitclock?

Hi,

You would need to set up your own instance of TheTransitClock. You can do this yourself or have someone do it for you. There are a number of companies and individuals that can do this for you.

Once set up you can configure your instance to produce prediction or analyze predictions from another source.

The basic inputs you need to produce predictions are GTFS and a GPS location feed. If it is to  analyze predictions from another system all you will need is the GTFS and the predictions from the other system. You will need to make sure the predictions from the other system are in GTFS real-time format and use the same identifiers as the GTFS.

Hope this helps,

Sean.

Hi,

Sorry just to correct myself. To analyze predictions you will also need a vehicle location feed.

Cheers,

Sean.
