Claire had her kidney angiogram this morning.
It took a little over 2 hours and the doctors found several significant
problems. :( Claire has two major arteries with blockages and several
smaller blockages in other vessels. She also has an aneurism. The
doctors told them that her problems were much too complicated to try to
repair anything today. She will be scheduled for surgery, hopefully in 2-3
weeks. They are hoping to do all the repairs through the artery, much
like they did today. A team of doctors will study her case and decide the
best way to proceed but they told Kerri and Pat that it will probably require
different methods in order to repair, such as coils, glue, etc. They said
it would be a fairly long and complicated surgery. Her procedure was at
8:00 this morning but they didn't really get started till 8:30. Kerri just
sent me a text message at 11:30 and Claire was still in recovery and they
haven't seen her yet. This all just breaks our hearts for little
Claire, Kerri and Pat. They've been through a lot lately!
Asking for continued prayers so all goes well with
the surgery!
