Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to remind everyone that Claire is scheduled for her kidney surgery/procedure as planned on Tuesday.  Last Thursday she wasn’t feeling well and after a long night Thursday night of stomach, leg, and chest pain, and fever,  Kerri and Pat took her to the ER in Coldwater.  They didn’t find anything else seriously wrong, but she did test positive for strep (even though she didn’t have a sore throat.)  They gave her a shot of antibiotics and sent them home with oral antibiotics.  Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to keep the medicine down until finally yesterday morning, she started feeling better.  Kerri had to call Nationwide Childrens to let them know about the strep, and to see if they could proceed on Tuesday.  Originally, the anesthesiologist said they’d have to wait 4 weeks, to be sure Claire’s white count was back to normal.  Obviously, with her aneurism, that was not good news!  Kerri then called the nephrologist, who later called her back to say he considers this surgery to be emergent and it will not be postponed unless Claire is really sick on Tuesday.  Thank God for that!

So once again, we’re asking you to say some extra prayers for Claire, and Kerri & Pat on Tuesday.  We’re hoping and praying that all goes well and Claire can be healthy again and just be a kid!  It’s been a long stressful summer and hopefully after Tuesday, we’ll get some good news and be able to relax again!  Roger and I will be in Columbus with them this week, but will send an update as soon as we’re able – not sure about WiFi there, etc, but will send an update for sure once we’re back home.

Thanks again for all your support and prayers!  Surely God will answer them!

Karen
