Hi all,

In our various sessions, we read from different books by or on Swamiji or the Holy Trio or somewhat related to the Hinduism. Sometimes some of us may want to read it further even after where we stop on certain sessions or someone might not have that particular eBook available to them. So, I think from now on, we can upload all our eBooks that we read (old or new; preferably in PDF formats) in a single Google Drive or something. Then when someone needs to access certain sections of a book, he or she can easily come to the Drive & find the selection easily. Also, it could also be useful when someone is reading a section or chapter from a particular book, others can follow along if they download the book before the session from this thread, as per the session schedule & that way the interaction after reading would be more lively. Please give your suggestions on this.

Thank you

HARI AUM!

That is a good suggestion. we already have a
google group and possibly a drive too.

Personally, I don't have any ebooks.
The only book (9 volume) I read online is Complete works.

Absolutely Good Idea.

I have already uploaded yesterday in to the Google Drive, the PDF you shared with me.

We may share it soon to those only who read every times.

And also we have uploaded several Stotras , Vandana etc, and our Contact List, Donation Spreadsheet chart etc.

Thanks,
Sekhar Naskar

It might lead into copyright violation. Not a good idea.

Would you be kind enough to educate us as to exactly how, might it lead to copyright violation?

Thanks and regards

Bhai Arnab,
Every publisher has the copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction and digitization is the violation of the copyright law.

And what makes you think WE will be reproducing or digitizing?

Yes, ethically..you can say its wrong and if any of the material uploaded there, was originally downloaded illegally, then it should be taken down. I can see the ethical side to this..but where is the legal side?

Thanks and regards

Not only reproduction and digitization, distribution also comes under the copyright law. What is the point of following Thakur Ramakrishna and doing unethical works.

Of course it's ethically wrong!! And all such illegally acquired material should be taken down.
But I can not see how this could land us in legal trouble. Its a closed group and we are not distributing it.

Thanks and regards

Hi Arnab,
Partha's motivation was really appreciable. However, I think that there are different ways to achieve it.

For example, somebody can note down the important points and publish that in the shared drive.

I think that whether you are sharing the whole book or part of the book in the digitized form with one person or within a group is illegal. You might think differently.
