Hi everyone! Here are some details for the Xmas party...
We will start getting together at 4pm for the kids but feel free to come as soon as you can.

As for food, this is the list I have. Let us know by replying to all if anything has changed.
Ammie/Parul Aunty- lentil dip and crackers/bread, soup, jalapeño-garlic sauce pasta, drinks, plates and supplies
Prashant/Jay- pizza
Vaishalee- dip and crackers or chips
Pushpa Aunty- lettuce wraps
Rashmi Aunty- chutney sandwiches
Hemina- other sandwiches
Bebu Aunty- avocado bean salad
Keisha- dessert

I would like to have a white elephant gift exchange like we did at KapVay's party last year. Whoever would like to participate just bring a gift-wrapped item you already have in your house that you never used or no longer have a need for. Everyone try to participate- the more people we have the more fun it will be! And I'll be sure not to forget my gift this year 😄

Here is our address: 404 Enclave Circle #105 Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Gate code is #838 if it is closed.
If you are entering through the main gate on Anton Blvd, (then you will see the leasing office when you enter) make a right and then the first right where it says buildings 401-404. Park in any open spaces near building 404, enter through the right doorway of building 404 and our apt is on the left, #105.
If your directions take you to the side gate on Vista Way- just enter, make a right, follow the road until you pass the main gate, and then follow the directions above.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Hey ammie,

We're super excited to see everyone and thanks so much for hosting.

We're looking forward to doing the white elephant again this year. We were talking about it, and if everyone is on board,  maybe we could change the rules this year. How about a $15 gift limit on a gift someone would want vs an unused/new item in our homes? This way we can avoid getting "junk" such as crystal platters/photo frames/candle holders etc. Essentially if there's an unneeded item in my home it will likely be unneeded in someone else's home.

We did a similar exchange at work and some examples were: cookbooks/table books, specialty foods, gift cards, movie tickets. There were some unique items like a creative coffee mug and men's stylish socks.

We'll be okay with the original idea if the majority wants to keep it.

Let us know your thoughts and final decision.

See you in a week!

That would be even better in my opinion. Does anyone have any objections?
I remember some people saying that they liked getting rid of stuff from their house and didn't want any new items coming in. I also think that more family members will participate if it doesn't involve going out and facing the holiday crowds to shop.
I would rather do an exchange with new, interesting items though, so can we get a count of who would participate if we changed the rules?

Im ok with white elephant- sounds like fun.

If ronak was here we would have to call it white rhino.
