And, yet, one full of potential.

COCKTAIL MUSEUM SUNDAYS
Robert Griffin plies his trade on the Seventh Day, making the best
drinks in town, like...
Feb. 6: The Island of Misfortunately-Named Drinks. Just what the name
suggests, a wacky blend of drinks that were given the equivalents of
the names Horace or Petunia. (No offense to our regulars named Horace
and Petunia.) This is a rare repeat, as last week’s ice storm limited
our attendance; that said, those on hand LOVED these drinks. Oh, yeah,
we’ll have the football game on, if that’s your bag.
Feb. 13: Valentine’s Day Drinks. Fellas, bring your wife. Or bring
your girlfriend. Or bring both! Jokes like this chestnut are gonna be
flowing after a couple delicious Valentine’s-themed drinks.
Feb. 20: Prohibition-Era, Prize-Winning Cocktails. Just what the name
suggests and just what the doctor ordered. Part one.
Feb. 27: Prohbition-Era, Prized-Winning Cocktails. See above. Part two.
TUESDAY BEER SHOWCASES
Get crunk with the cool kids, John and Matt, every Tuesday...
Feb. 8: New Haven, MO, is home to a new brewery, named Second Shift.
We’ll sample at least one of their products, with hopes of featuring
the brewers, themselves, dropping through for samplings and
conversation.
Feb. 15: This is a big night, featuring the release of a collaborative
beer with Schlafly, Vanilla Milk Stout. This beer, hand-crafted by
representatives of both Schlafly and The Royale, will be on-hand for
two-three months, or until it simply runs out. Consider getting in on
the ground floor of this taste experience.
Feb. 22: Red beers of course- for this will be the eve of the Royale
Gingerfest. Selection will be TBD.
PRESIDENTIAL BEARD PARTY:
Mark this down: Saturday, February 12. On this day, we’ll celebrate
the best beards from our Presidential ranks. Sport your finest facial
hair, gentlemen (and ladies!), for a chance at fabulous prizes. It’s a
night of civic silliness as we embrace the beards of our leaders, with
a spirited contest between the hours of 8-11 p.m., featuring judges
on-hand and via Skype; old guy beards, new-fangled means to enjoy
them. Who’s your fave Dead Prez? Represent ‘em here.
GINGERFEST ‘11
Mark this down, too: Tuesday, February 22: It’s a celebration of the
root of all things red. Red beers (think Red Stripe, etc.),
ginger-flavored cocktails and food specials incorporating the same
color will be featured. Costume contest for those based on favorites
gingers from history or fiction. Real gingers, with a childhood photo,
will be rewarded. Gimme an R, gimme an E...
