New Jersey requires educator certification for any professional staff member employed in New Jersey public schools or any institution under the supervision of the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), including charter schools, county vocational-technical school districts, special services school districts, NJDOE-approved private schools for students with disabilities, or educational facilities within the Department of Corrections, Juvenile Justice Commission and the Department of Human Services.
This certificate is requested by a school district for a newly hired teacher after the teacher obtains a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS). A candidate cannot apply for this certificate. Provisional certificates are valid for up to two years expiring July 31 of the second year and may be renewed one time.

Senate Bill 29 (effective July 1, 2017) alleviates the fingerprinting process for new school district employees that meet the following criteria...; "provided that a board of education shall not be required to obtain a new criminal history record check for an individual who has obtained certification from the State Department of Education within the previous twelve (12) months."
What this means:
A school district that hires a new employee who has been certified for the first time in Oklahoma within 12 months of their hire date does not have to conduct a new background check on the employee.
Furthermore, OSDE will no longer be allowed to disseminate the results of certification background checks to public school districts (commonly referred to as dual results) except for the following conditions; if the applicant wishes to be fingerprinted for both certification and employment, this must be made known at the time they are fingerprinted.
The legislature created the Rural School Teacher Talent Pilot Program in the 2017-2019 state budget to try and increase the exposure that teacher candidates and student teachers have working in a rural school with the hope that more new teachers will consider working in a rural school (see Wis. Stat. 115.423).
The grants allow regional Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs) to coordinate practicum, student teacher, and internship placements in rural districts. These pre-service candidates may receive a stipend for working in a rural school, and student teachers are eligible to receive either a housing stipend to live in the rural district during student teaching or travel reimbursement if commuting from their campus. As frontline education providers, teachers have encountered many challenges since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. To better understand teacher well-being during this crisis and inform practices to support them, this study employed an online survey with a mixed-methods approach to assess teacher well-being and the support they need to work effectively. A sample of 151 elementary school teachers in the United States was recruited in summer 2020 to complete an online survey through emails and social media outlets. Participants were asked to provide retrospective reports of their experiences teaching in spring 2020 after schools closed due to COVID-19. The majority of participants reported feeling emotionally exhausted and high levels of task stress and job ambiguity. Consistent with hypotheses, path analysis testing a model informed by the job demand-resources framework indicated that task stress and job ambiguity were robustly related to teacher well-being. Moreover, three job resources (i.e., teaching efficacy, school connectedness, and teaching autonomy) were related to job satisfaction. A moderation finding revealed that teachers who reported high teaching efficacy felt emotionally exhausted when they were unclear of their job duties. Thematic analysis of responses to an open-ended question found that teachers would feel supported if provided resources to develop competence in distance learning, workplace emotional support, and flexibility during COVID-19. The findings identified a critical need to allocate more attention and resources to support teacher psychological health by strengthening emotional support, autonomy, and teaching efficacy.
