Hooked up the gigabyte package last month. Have been fighting it ever since. For the longest time, all the devices were getting kicked off the wifi at the same time. Nothing could reconnect until we unplugged the wifi extender and plugged it back in.

Today's challenge: only some of the devices getting kicked off. They cannot get back on the wifi because the device is saying "incorrect password". Currently, I have a Samsung s9, s10, Samsung s3 tablet, iPhone 7, and dell laptop that cannot connect to the wifi because of incorrect password. All of these devices were working fine until three hours ago. Now none of them can get online.

On some of the devices, I've tried "forgetting" the network settings, and I've tried resetting the network settings altogether. Cannot get the devices to connect. I am 100% certain we are typing in the password correctly because we have numerous people checking to make sure it's correct.

I'm getting so sick of fighting Telus internet. This is getting exhausting. Shaw was slow, but if I'd known that two months into Telus I still wouldn't have reliable internet, i never would have changed.

Recently I changed my internet service provider and had high speed fibre optic internet installed (called Telus PureFibre; I'm located in Alberta, Canada). I have no idea if it is 5 or 2.5 GHz or neither or both (?).

My Roku Express worked perfectly for about a month after the switch, then one night, mid-program it stopped connecting to wifi. Since then, despite a LOT of troubleshooting, I'm still without my beloved Roku. Note, it's definitely a Roku thing, all my other devices with wifi connections have no issues.

The other postings I've read here are similar but most quite dated, and resulted in the person being contacted directly. So please, any assistance Roku can provide will be most appreciated. I'd really like to resolve this.

1. When you made the password change, are you sure you made it to the SSID under the 2.4ghz band? (The Express 3930 cannot see/use the 5ghz band, so making any changes under the 5ghz settings won't help your issue. Need to make sure you are changing/editing the 2.4ghz settings.

4. Under the Wireless Security Settings for the 2.4ghz band, try looking for something that says WPA2 or AES/PSK. Verify that WPA2 is set and not WPA3. If WPA3 is available, initially change it to WPA2 and then check to see if Roku can connect. If successful, then can be changed to WPA2/WPA3 and see if still able to connect. If set to WPA3-only, Roku devices will not connect. (not sure what kind of router you have, but Telus seems to provide Wifi6 routers so WPA3 likely in use on them).

5. As @renojim also indicated, look for your Wireless Mode/Protocol under the 2.4ghz settings and verify that set to a default b/g/n. (this will allow all speed protocols to be used and rule out this known culprit on some cable ISP networks. Reportedly will throw both 14.30 and 14.40 errors).

6. If all the above fail to get you past the 14.40 error and connected, try connecting to a mobile hotspot if available. If you can connect to the hotspot, then your Express 3930 hardware is working and there is a compatibility issue between your new Telus router/setup and the Roku device. (ie. likely conflict in one of the firmwares of either the router or the Roku device handling authentication).

Start by giving us the model number of your Express (there have been many over the years) displayed under Settings->System->About. It most likely only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channels 1 to 11. What happens when you go through the process of connecting to Wi-Fi?

That is indeed a 2.4GHz-only model (channels 1 to 11). 014.4 is supposedly a password problem. Maybe try changing your Wi-Fi password temporarily to something simple just to see if it connects. Some routers require the wireless mode to be set to b/g/n and not g/n, but I think you'd get a different error code if that was the case. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try changing it.

You should get an email when someone replies in this thread (assuming you have the "Email me when someone replies" box checked), but you can't reply to it. I'm not sure where a reply would end up, but it won't show up here. When you get the email, reply here.

@Abby12508, post the model number of your Roku device written on it or displayed under Settings->System->About, the name of your ISP (Internet service provider), and the make and model number of your router written on it. That will give people here the best chance of being able to help.

For my problem it was a case of logging on to my router via a browser (e.g. using 192.168.1.254 as the ip address) and selecting a different wifi channel via the settings and allowing it all to reboot. There was no need to use dedicated software.

The same here, in this case it is an X1C, yesterday the X1C refused to connect, ther where no changes tho the network, the network is up and running with no problems to other equipment.
The X1C does not even see my network, so i connected an old accesspoint to my network with the same ID and password, now it is going again.
I have no clue why this happens and how to solve the problem with my original network.

If the X1C is not even listing your network (the one that you want), what I did was to do a factory reset. For me, at least, when it got to the network setup, it finally showed my network and I just needed to put in the password.

Had a home internet service installed about a week ago. Asked the installer for the wifi password and admin password and he showed it to me on the round WIFI box. Didn't click that i need a login name.

Now i would like to access the router so i can change the password, network name etc. Our Rogers box had a sticker on the bottom with all of it on it. How do i find out the username? I tried what google suggested admin/telus but it doesnt work. I tried admin/(password thats on the round box) same thing.

The Actiontec V1000H is a combination xDSL modem/wireless router/internet gateway device which also provides functionality for newer technologies such as VoIP (Voice over IP) and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television). Actiontec manufactures the hardware and markets the devices to third party companies like ISPs (Internet Service Providers). The third party companies then customize the device firmware for their specific needs and provide it to their customers. Actiontec only provides support and firmware updates for NCS (non customer specific) devices. All other devices are supported by the customer (ISP) who has provided the device to the end user, because they contain modified firmware which is specific to each customer.

The Telus firmware for the V1000H has many hidden features and other details which I have decided to compile into a single blog post. This will hopefully be helpful to other users who have this device.

NOTE: Actiontec V1000H devices which are not Telus branded will use a different firmware and will not work the same way. The details provided in this post are specific to the Telus branded devices and may not work properly (or at all) on other devices.

The web interface allows for multiple usernames and passwords which can be used to login to the device. The links available from the main web interface and the pages which you can access change depending on the credentials which you provide.

Telus has hidden several pages of the web interface from the end user by removing their links. The configuration pages still exist and function (most likely intended only for Telus technicians or support to use) but you need to know and access the URL directly.

To use any of these features, you must login to the regular web interface first, then open the complete URL of the hidden page (copy and paste them into the address bar of your web browser, or open the links provided below). If the internal network IP address of your V1000H is different from the default then replace it with the correct IP address in the URLs below.

Telus has hidden the firmware update page of the web interface from end users by removing links to it under the area accessed by end users. The page can only be found by entering the correct address into the address bar of your browser.

From here you can select and update the device firmware using a downloaded image file on your computer. You can use this to install official Telus firmware updates or custom firmware which you select.

NOTE: Firmware updates are not compatible between different customer specific devices. If you install the incorrect firmware for your device (like using Actiontec NCS firmware on a Telus branded V1000H) there is a huge risk of damaging or bricking the device!
