Hi everyone-- just checking to see if everyone got my last email I
sent to them.... If not, here is the highlights:
I am writing to see how everyone is coming along on their prints. I
have received word from Jeff Kollath at the Veterans Museum that our
dates for the show will be April 11, 2011 - June 11, 2011 with a
reception on May 6, 2011. I know you are all doing amazing things and
I thank you. Also, if you have emailed your veteran and they have not
responded, that is ok, as that was not required of them to do so.
However, if you have been in contact that is great. I have begun a
simple graphic for mass-produced post cards for the show and I will be
printing posters as well. The Veterans Museum will be doing a press
release and John Bechtol, Assistant Dean of Students and Vets for Vets
Advisor is promoting this as well. If anyone with a letterpress wishes
to do any printed postcards that would be great, but not mandatory.
You have the dates now so feel free. ( I know everyone's world is
revolving around this project, ha ha) Finally, I just wanted one more
opportunity to thank you all for participating in this amazing
project. I cannot say it enough, but thank you. As I watch my friends
begin to express their symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, I
cannot help but think that I have been called upon to provide an
outlet to get these stories out so they can be free of the demons that
haunt them -- even if for a small moment. You, too, are a part of
these Pict-oral histories. Thank you, my friends and fellow
printmakers, you make me proud.
Please let me know if you run into any complications!
My best,
Yvette
