CJF Plus is supported by the U.S. Department of Labor and 100 percent of the program will be financed with federal funds. Through this three-year competitive pilot program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), funding will be made available for non-profit organizations serving, or located in, the Bronx and Queens to enhance climate justice in their respective communities. Specifically, these organizations can apply to receive nearly $80,000 in wage subsidies to hire fellows for a two-year period to implement climate justice-related work and activities. Interested non-profit organizations in the Bronx and Queens must apply by 3:00 p.m. EST on February 12, 2025. Please visit here.

Awarded non-profit organizations will offer fellowships to residents from priority populations in the Bronx and Queens. Priority populations include persons with disabilities, single parents, previously incarcerated individuals, veterans, and dislocated fossil fuel workers, among others. Once hired, fellows will also receive professional development and supportive services, like transportation and childcare, up to $8,000, which will be administered by BronxWorks, a local social service organization. Selected fellows will assist with community engagement activities (e.g., planning, policy development, or project implementation), support clean energy project development and implementation, facilitate or build upon partnerships, or engage in other projects related to advancing climate justice and clean energy priorities in the Bronx and Queens.

These efforts are part of more than $180 million that NYSERDA has dedicated for workforce development and training initiatives which prioritize hiring from priority populations. This portfolio of talent pipeline programs includes Energy Efficiency and Clean Technology Training, Offshore Wind Training, and On-the-Job Training supporting the ramp-up of clean energy businesses and hiring of skilled talent.

NYSERDA, with support from U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of New York's 14th congressional district, is pleased to announce the Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program is now available and is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. The Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program is a $3 million pilot program to advance climate justice in the Bronx and Queens.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking applications to partially fund two-year, full-time climate justice fellowships, for individuals from priority populations. Climate Justice Fellows will work within non-profit organizations in the Bronx and Queens to advance climate justice and clean energy priorities. NYSERDA has partnered with BronxWorks , a community-based organization, that will provide case management for fellows to support their success in the fellowship.

NYSERDA will provide up to $8,000 per Fellow over the two year fellowship to support approved professional development activities and supportive services. Fellows are required to meet with BronxWorks on a quarterly basis. BronxWorks will provide case management services to Fellows as well as supportive services or referrals to supportive services to reduce barriers to employment.

NYSERDA has partnered with a contractor to provide additional professional development services to the fellows in each cohort. Fellows must participate in cohort services. Cohort services include: (1) virtual peer groups in which fellows can discuss topics such as challenges and successes, (2) mentorship opportunities with industry leaders, (3) access to a virtual Climate Leadership Certificate Course , (4) Skills Labs to hone specific climate justice- and clean energy-related skills determined based on needs, and (5) access to a Climate Leadership Network (CLN), an online community for climate-focused organizations with a presence in New York State.

Please complete the enrollment form to receive a calendar invite for the nearest CJF Plus Office Hours and/or be notified of any changes. Registration is not required. To join live during the virtual office hours, you may access the meeting via WebEx .

NYSERDA offers objective information and analysis, innovative programs, technical expertise, and support to help New Yorkers increase energy efficiency, save money, use renewable energy, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. A public benefit corporation, NYSERDA has been advancing energy solutions and working to protect the environment since 1975.

This report is the first joint work of the members of the Ibero-American Alliance for Access to Justice. It focuses on three different areas of endeavor: data and innovation, the regional normative framework and action plan for access to justice, and efforts being undertaken to leave no one behind.

The report pleads for increased engagement with Customary and Informal Justice (CIJ) actors. It reviews the characteristics of CIJ, discusses why they are integral to achieving justice for all, reframes the risks of engagement and non-engagement with CIJ, and proposes ways to effectively engage.

The Pathfinders Grand Challenge on Justice seeks to accelerate action on providing equal access to justice for all. Learn more about the history of the program, where we've been, and where we're headed.

In 2007 I attended an arts conference at the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. A class about the intersection of the arts, faith, protest and social justice peaked my imagination. Is worship music, in a sense, protest music?

I began to see lament and confession, in particular, as acts of protest against the devil, the systems of this fallen world, and the sin in our own hearts. And I began thinking about the conditions of suffering and injustice that my church was addressing in our city. Then I began to write,

And when you want an effective rally cry, one that all creation groans as the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings deeper than mortals can express, you turn to the words of Scripture. So as I prayed, God brought Amos 5:24 to mind:

The Festival is not an extra assignment! There are definitely no final exams or class participation marks up for grabs! The Festival is an invitation to each and every student to hold next-level conversations, to listen, to think, to talk, and to reflect.
