Feel the general consensus on the island is that we do NOT go ahead with such a big operation on Eleuthera. Rather save the vets generosity for when the Distemper dies down. In the meantime you should all know that I have 3 cat traps in my store room and you are all welcome to BORROW them, set them up day before vet comes have the cats fixed at Pet Pals expense ( pls. let me now  how many you  have), and let them go where you trapped them after recovery.

Just my $0.02: Cats cause more harm to the local wildlife than dogs, and are easy enough to catch. You don't need to worry about getting scratched, as the vets and techs will handle them. We fixed about 60 cats in 1.5 days during the Gregory Town spay and neuter, almost all of them wild, with about a dozen traps.

Mark you are right and now when we have vets going to Gregory Town every  other  We'd there is no reason why cats from your area could not be taken to them we just need some dedicated volunteers to put out and collect the traps

Home with my Pet Pal records. We did a total of 96 animal when we had the big s/n clinic in Gregory Town. Know there were quite a few cats but did not realise it was such a  discrepancy in the amount of cats and dogs. Anyway, as I said I have 3 traps in my store room, if you want to borrow them you are welcome  and I would be happy to bring them up to the Gregory Town Clinic next time the vets come there so you don't have to drive so far. Just let me know how many you are bringing to be fixed so I can keep some control of the funds.
