In today's issue: Happy Friday! We hope you're staying warm amidst this snowstorm and brutal cold plunge. We've got news hot off the presses to help keep you warm.

First, changes to SNAP benefits are coming at the same time as funding for food banks is being cut. Community Journalist Henry Haas looks at how this could impact the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Cleveland and Lakewood

Then, Marshall Project - Cleveland reporter Mark Puente spent years chasing a story about Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Judge Leslie Ann Celebrezze. In this story, Puente describes how he investigated the accusations into Celebrezze and some of the outfall.

Third, in response to the winter storm that hit Northeast Ohio on Wednesday and Thursday, the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County opened temporary warming shelters and directed people in need to overnight and year-round shelters. Details on all those facilities can be found in this story.

Finally, applications for The Land's Winter 2026 Community Journalism course are now open! If you've ever wanted to report on your own neighborhood, this class will give you the tools to write your story.
