SNAP exemptions and eligibility: work requirements and immigration

We've created a resource to help determine how SNAP changes will impact eligibility. While additional changes are coming, expanded work requirements and the elimination of SNAP benefits for certain immigrant populations took effect at the beginning of November. Read more.

Medicaid community engagement and work requirements guidance

Our policy team has summarized the 12-page informational bulletin from December 8 on the new Medicaid provisions. Rulemaking must be done by June, and states will soon begin budget and legislative sessions in preparation to support the implementation of the Medicaid provisions. Read more.

The Cuyahoga Human Services Chamber includes over 120 nonprofit members, including large social service organizations to grassroots groups. Thirty-four presentations, trainings, and convenings reached 1,889 people in 2025. These events provided valuable information, fostered connections, and elevated the needs of our local human services sector. Read more.

Final county budget includes an amendment impacting health and human services

The real work begins now to ensure that expenditures remain consistent with the appropriated spending levels. Some of the uncertainties present at the start of the process persist, like federal funding and whether revenues (primarily property taxes supporting health and human services) will align with the projections on which the budget was based.
