Dear Members of The Pagan Temple Google Group,
We apologize for the intrusion, however, it has become necessary
that all members be able to receive the digest email. This is an
email of all messages sent in the day. Since The Pagan Temple Google
Group rarely sends out messages, perhaps once a week, it isn't too
much trouble. If you are uncomfortable with these new rules, we're
very sorry, but the group needs to get together and actually get some
work done. If we don't communicate, this can't happen.
Also, all emails that are bouncing will be removed from the member
rolls. All unverified emails must be verified. You will be given
three notices to verify in order to remain in the group. After that,
you will be removed from our member rolls. All members that take
issue with the above email requirements, please contact me or The
Pagan Temple.
There are to be new group rules as well. All members must introduce
themselves. If you have already done so, thank you very much. If you
haven't please do so as soon as possible. New members have exactly 90
days to introduce themselves or be removed from the member rolls. An
introduction can be short and sweet, simply a name, a general age (or
undefined if you prefer), and a general location, such as the US if
you prefer. Nothing more need be said, but you are more than welcome
to say more.
As always, please keep things civil. If not The Pagan Temple
retains the right to ban very disruptive people. However, I don't
think that will be a problem. Thank you and good day.

Merry Meet -
I am a solitary practitioner that wants to learn from others of the
craft. My name is Valerie, I am 42 and live in Illinois.
I am interested in discussion on how we can relate to the everyday
issues of living while being aware and communing with all that is
around us.
Have a wonderful day.

Welcome! So glad to see you here. It sounds like you are interested
in Pagan Naturalism itself.
Living while being conscious of all that is around us can be very
difficult. The best thing I have
found are working meditations. This is when one works in silence,
while contemplating the work being done.
Doing it can put you into a different state of mind, almost like a
trance if you will.
It helps bring about your connection to the mundane, which can help
you relate to everything around you.

I myself, do this a lot. It helps me stay focused on things that are
important.

Maybe this is why I really enjoy digging holes. I'm not lying! It's
the one great thing I've enjoyed about the sandy ground here in this
part of North Carolina. Sometimes I'll dig a hole and then fill it
back in. Weird or just Pagan? LOL

I've never responded to any group messages before, but I didn't want
to lose access to the group, so here I am. I'm female, married, 38,
and enjoy getting lost in the mundane because living in the wild makes
me crazy and cranky. Thank goodness for dirt! :)

LOL. I have done that...only it was unintentional. I live in the
middle of no where. We have sandy
land here too. I usually dig holes to plant things like blue berry
bushes though. The land is perfect for it.
It is acidic naturally and sandy. I do all I can to learn about the
land on which I live. Part of it is from Paganism,
and part from my passion to garden. (Which came first I wonder)

My favorite working meditation was picking up trash. It sounds so
simple really. But honestly,
I would walk around a mile track just picking up trash all day. I
would get a rhythm going. It sounds so
boring I know, but it really helps you meditate doing repetitive
work. That way you're not just sitting around
all day meditating, but actually doing stuff and reaching a different
level of consciousness at the same time.
The only time I couldn't do this was when it was blistering hot in
August. Then the heat takes your focus away too much.
Being able to focus on a task to a point it becomes automatic is how
you set your mind free to think of nothing.

It's almost like driving a car. If you have ever driven somewhere and
didn't remember how you got there at the end, you
could have been meditating while driving. Driving for a lot of people
does this. I don't suggest it, but it does happen.
There are lots of examples of how a working meditation goes. The
point is to do something that is repetative,
to the point where it is automatic. Then you can work and focus on
relaxing. I know sounds like an oxymoron.
