Hello! I kinda need help, my phone wont charge correctly and I can't find a solution. Last night I plugged my phone in to charge it (Note: it was at 3%) and it showed the charging icon and so I went to bed, well when I woke up the next morning my phone was still at 3% it says my phone is charging and I tried restarting it and taking the battery out, but to no prevail. Any help is appreciated Thank you.
The first and cheapest way to test a solution is to replace your battery. Make sure the new battery is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) one. If someone suggests something else other than a Samsung battery, tell them to shove off.
take the battery out of your phone but leave the charger connected and holf the power button for about 10 secconds. disconect the charger and put the battery back in, then re connect the charger. always works for me :)
That does not work at all! Not for me at least. After almost three years, my Galaxy Grand Prime refuses to charge. Period. Nothing works, nada, zip. Replacement charger, and replace cord, nothing. The phone was not dropped, not got wet, no rooting. Just normal usage. Then within a period of 3-5 days the phone has refused to charge the battery, and won't even turnon, with drained battery, when plugged in. Went through multiple sockets, that are known to work, nothing. Just refuses to charge. When it does turn on, it immediately issues, critical power level, with 1 or 0 % remaining, then shuts off.
the posting of January 6th is MISLEADING. The dude is wrong. There are known issue with Grand Prime which Samsung won't admit. You have to re-heat U420 and U421 chips which are located under CPU. If that doesn't work the chips have to be replaced. The best way is to get rid of this lousy model and get something decent.
i have Galaxy grand prime plus . when i connect charger it starts charging for 5 to 10 seconds then it is disconnected by itself. screen start blinking due to connect and disconnect of charger. charger and data cable is absolutely fine. kindly suggest me solution ?

I have the same problems my samsung grand prime the first day it charged well but when I insert sim card did not turn on until I removed the battery and drain power and turned on. But when I connected to a charger the phone is not charging and battery icons is just blinking. Help what can be the cause
my galaxy core prime said that there is a system update. i told it to go ahead and download over wi-fi. download failed with "software download unsuccessful". i've been trying to do this for 2 days now, and it always fails with the same, totally not useful, generic message.
I appreciate all these details, dawe1313, as it really helps us understand what next steps are available. Now let's get this software updated. Although there's enough memory, the RAM may be high. You want to have at least 20% RAM available. Please try powering down for two minutes, then restart and try updating software again. If still unsuccessful, you can use the Software Repair Assistant, (SRA).

Thanks for those helpful details again. We've almost got this case figured out here. Were you able plug your device into a computer and run the Software Repair Assistance? The SRA tool will definitely be beneficial in this situation.

DONT UPDATE IT,, i have the prime,, it came with kitkat 4.4.4,, it updated to lollipop 5.1.1 without even asking if i wanted it to.. now it wont connect to my home wifi, both the wifi and bluetooth buttons are greyed out,cant get it to use the 4g data setting , , i try to reinstall all my pics, music , contacts and apps from the cloud,, all it does it get stuck in a loop, and turns off and on,, i called verizon,, that was 4 days ago and im still waiting for a callback to know if i have to send it in for repair or replacement.. i did try to factory reset it back to 4.4.4.. didnt work,, still has 5.1.1
This isn't the experience we want you to have, jaided23. VZW to the rescue. Completing the factory reset won't change the software verision, but can correct issues when software loads corruptly. What can do a better job is the Samsung repair assistant, as it rebuilds your new software from scratch. Here's the link with instructions.
