[PoCo] Readings for next class

Hi,

Manoj and I will be presenting the two essays from Ashis Nandy's "Loss and Recovery of Self under Colonialism" next Wednesday (22/8/12). Please do try to read the essays before class - we don't want to bore you with a lecture. Besides, the articles are very well-written.

Also, as Eid is this Monday, we won't be having our regular class.

If you don't have time to read Nandy's "The Intimate Enemy" before Wednesday's class, please do try to read George Orwell's short essay, "Shoothing an Elephant" (available here:  http://www.online-literature.com/orwell/887/ ). The essay is an interesting way of approaching Nandy's arguments.
