The player receives a package that contains a VHS tape, which shows a commercial for the titular doll Poppy Playtime and tours of the factory before abruptly cutting to spliced-in footage of graffiti of a poppy, and a letter from the missing staff, requesting them to "find the flower". They then enter the abandoned toy factory and, after solving the code to a security door, acquire the GrabPack, which they use to unlock the door to the lobby. After entering the lobby, the player is introduced to Huggy Wuggy, who is on display in the center of the room. While trying to unlock one door in the lobby, the power suddenly cuts, forcing them to restore power in the power room.
For starters, I have always liked poppy playtime and have played through both games. Usually I would call this a coincidence, however the same thing has happened to one of my friends right after installing and running project playtime.
The document's contents reveal a doctor, Doctor Matthew Wayson, requesting to add artificially-lit windows in the Game Station in order to boost children's mental health and decrease negative, rowdy attitude.
A doctor working for Playtime Co. named Matthew Wayson can be seen requesting windows in the Game Station. When reading under the "Why", Wayson can be seen complaining about how unpleasant it is to not experience any sunlight or an alternative to so. Wayson continues by explaining that the lack of windows is also affecting the children, with the children described to act "rowdy" according to Matthew Wayson.
Matthew Wayson explains that although the Game Station can be located underground and natural light cannot be transported down there, a simple solution stated are artificial windows. After Wayson first came across said idea from a channel on his TV, he states that these windows can make the entire area feel sunlit and natural. He concludes the request form with a convincing argument that all children must be sane while playing through the Game Station.
I don't know if you've ever spent weeks on end in a windowless, artificially lit room, but let me tell you something: it's far from pleasant. The kids are getting rowdy too. You can just see it on their faces. I know there's not really a way to get natural light down here, but there's other ways, right? I'm thinking about fake windows, all around.. Do that. and bam! There's some actual LIFE down here. I saw it on TV last week. This underground place had fake windows. Big lights behind glass. It makes the whole place feel sunlit. It's nice! You want everyone in the right headspace for these games, don't you? Do the right thing!
It can be theorized that Playtime Co. did indeed take this request into reality, with large; artificially-lit windows active even during Chapter 2: "Fly in a Web", seen high on the roof in the Game Station. From a lore standpoint, it is unknown how this document plays a role.
