Are people interested in the publication of a theopoetics reader? An
anthology of theopoetic writing, and writing on theopoetics?

Would people use it in classes?

Would there be interest in course work developed to teach to the topic?

I think a reader would be fantastic. Theopoetics is an amayzing field
and has allot to contribute. Im hoping, at the completion of my MA, to
do workshops or sessional teaching on it.

Jason,

If you happen to get to the east coast, my wife and I will be doing a
session on it at Goddard College's Power of Words Conference in the
fall of 2008. You probably won't get a huge amount of new
information, but it might be of interest.

Speaking from the Bethany Theological Seminary/Earlham School of Religion community, there would be interest here. We're hoping a course in theopoetics can be approved for this coming fall, with at least a dozen folks expressing interest. As a poet-theologian myself, I can say that a reader or more writing on theopoetics would be certainly welcomed.

Just had a thought. What about a conference on theopoetics?
conferences are always good places to gather papers from for
publication. and they're good for meeting the authors face to face.

Travis,

Re: A conference.

Part of what will be my work this summer is attempting to probe that
idea further. I am in the process of trying to set of blocks of time
to simply write and make connections, hoping for more polished work as
well as leads on the potential of a conference. I'll keep folks
posted.

I'm a student at Pacific School of Religion and am wondering if you're
coming out to the West Coast anytime. Oh, and what about the YAF
Gathering at ESR? It would be great to shoot the gift with you. Peace.

Conference:
There are so few of us working in Theopoetics - ive publishes one
article and a zine on it - that as much fun as a conference would be
how would we all get together to do it? Im an 'independent
scholar' (code for im done with school and not going to do an Phd) and
planning a wedding...cant really afford to fly out for a conference.

Though...damn...that would be awesome.

What about a Scholar's Slam? Gatehr theopoets - academics, poets,
artists, musicians - and hold coffee houses on the topic up and down
each coast. I could AT LEAST do the westcoast tour?

Apocrophil Press is doing...using POD companys and running an imprint
through them. Good way to get the books out.
