I did a complete un-install, deleted all the files that were left from
my system, removed all the orphan .dlls and then did a defrag.
The re-install appeared to go without any problems but on reboot I got
this message:
"This application must be installed to run. Please run setup from the
location where you originally installed the application."
I managed to find an alleged solution at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q233529
but I really can't figure what it is trying to say. Maybe my mind is
just so muddled after about 18 hours of trying to fix this that I can't
see the forest for the trees.
My system boots up as a muti-user system and I really would like to stop
that but I have been unable to. I've never set up any individual users
but when I boot the system boots in a user logged in and at the start
button you have logoff and shut down options.
My system is setup as a desktop and boots up as a windows system not a
Microsoft network.
Can anyone make any suggestion? I'm at my wits end.
