Pymine (the Django Mine 1.0) is under construction; very basic at the
moment, am working out how to translate all the protomine function
over to Django.

How's this going? I'm quite interested in the development of pymine.
What's the latest?

I am adding code to the models to sanitise, import and export the data
via AJAX; ince that's done I am going to test it all using the old
protomine "minectl" code, lightly hacked to address the amendments to
the API.

A feed of putbacks is available at http://code.google.com/p/pymine/
feeds and the annotations have now moved from being "fixing bug" into
something marginally more meaningful, now that something approaching
real code, exists.

Can you share what brings your interest to the project? :-)

I'm interested in VRM. A couple of years ago I wrote about distributed social networking in response to the emergence of social networking silos like Facebook and Myspace. It felt wrong to hand all my personal data to a big company just to share it with my friends when I already had a web site. A colleague introduced me to VRM and it sounded like the same kind of thinking, but with a much broader scope.

I'm now thinking of writing some web-based "home server" software to provide a better interface to the data I store at home. I'll be writing it in Python with Django as I have experience of both. I'm interested in applying the VRM concepts and Mine! architecture to this and other future projects.

Regards

Ben
