I'd love to help. Mark me down as a strong possibility, and I'll cc: the Mine project list, since there are a few people there who might be able to help/advise/want to attend.
I'm just finishing the edit of the DJUGL video, it should be up tonight. Watch @themineproject for details, if you want to share it with anyone.

Each event consists of two keynote talks of 15 minutes each. You can also expect frenetic bursts of socialising and networking, interspersed with two bunches of 5-minute-long 'microslot' talks.

You'd be welcome to deliver a 15-minute keynote or a five-minute 'microslot' - whichever you fancy, really!

Hm, I note:
"Given the typical audience for Geek Nights (developers, designers and
(the better kind of) social-media types), I don't think you'd be able
to go too far down into the nitty gritty of how The Mine! Project
works and keep everyone with you, but something like the earlier parts

Perhaps time for me to step in? I have avoided talking about Mine!
publicly too much until there is _usable_ Mine! to show to people.
After all, Mine! is for non-coding users first and foremost. :)
But if there is an audience that may be interested, then that's great.
It may help us reach more people willing to participate in the project
and hopefully speed up the development. :)

Sure! I think we can cover pretty much any audience profile.

Am sure that talking about Mine! even while it's still in a
non-released state will drum up both interest and potential
contributors too - I know it got me thinking (just a shame about
darned client work that gets in the way...)
Hope that helps

So perhaps a UI session is in order, anyone up for that? Richard,
Ketan, Carrie? Others can join us remotely, of course! End of March or
after Easter any good?
I am now using Omnigraffle Pro, putting some flow into the wireframes,
i.e. things happen when you click on buttons. Starting to feel real,
though still much work ahead. Will share the file on the list any time
now, real soon. :)

I'm getting involved in another little initiative regarding local
networks of techies and geeks, separate from Mine!. Is the date
pretty firm? I'd love to take a crack at a quick talk.

First off, apologies for letting this conversation thread fall
somewhat neglected -- it kind of happened while I was on holiday, and
as soon as I got back to earth, work kicked off (as usual).
Anyway: following those couple of tweets between you, Alec and me in
the week, it'd be great if you were interested and able to give a
5-min 'microslot' talk about The Mine Project at the first ever South
London Geek Night. It's happening on 29 April at The Bedford in
Balham. (Kick off 8.15-8.30).
Do you reckon this is a date you could make? A talk about TMP would be
a great addition and help complete a varied and interesting line-up --
the perfect criteria for a Geek Night!
Feel free to give me a call, or ping back an email - whatever's easiest.
Cheers
Steve
