We want you to remember something. Really remember.
Remember how you felt the day after Donald Trump was elected in 2016. Remember walking around in disbelief and fear of what our democracy would become. And remember time and time again how your anxieties came to life over the next four years. From his “zero tolerance” immigration policy to his dangerous rhetoric during the coronavirus pandemic, remember how fearful you felt during every day of his presidency.
Now remember how you felt after Joe Biden was elected in 2020. Remember the relief you felt knowing that we didn’t have to deal with Trump in office any longer, and the hope you felt knowing democracy prevailed. Remember each and every accomplishment we’ve made: the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the list goes on and on.
We can’t go back now.
We’ve made too much progress throughout the last four years to go back to the way we all felt when Trump was elected.
It may be wild to think, but if you don’t act today, history could repeat itself.
