| Change currency (if your country uses a currency that is also used in other countries, please choose the country in which you live): |
Note: This currency conversion takes into account not only exchange rates but also differences in purchasing power, as given by the International Monetary Fund with minor adjustments for some more recent changes in value. Please inform us of any errors.
If your currency is not listed, or if you prefer to make your own calculation, you can go to http://www.xe.com to convert your currency to US dollars. You can also take account of differences in purchasing power by using this map . You may, of course, use any other source you have available to convert the US dollar figures.
If possible could you please also include info on the multiplication
for different currency and std of living/purchasing power?
It used to be on the website but has been replaced with an auto-
calculator (which is very useful). I looked for a cached version but
could not find it.
I recommend the calculation info should be at the bottom of the
webpage in a section entitled "How is this calculation made".
I also suggest that it show the calculated final percentage that is
recommended (rec donation/salary x 100).
I am trying to understand the detail of the calculation
My partner and I currently give 5.5% of our pre-tax salary in
donations (Oxfam/Fred Hollows and PSI) and want I was wondering how
this compares with Mr Singer's recommendation.
