Bowdoin College owns a Site Subscription for Chemdraw, you can download your copy through the corresponding link below.
All site licenses for Chemdraw v17 and beyond will be administered through the PerkinElmer Download Center. Users will be asked to register as a member in this new system in addition to their existing user account on the old website, The new system will provide access to download the software and activation codes. It is very important that you register using your Bowdoin email address (not gmail, etc), as only users with an @bowdoin.edu address will be granted access to the download site. Please read carefully to be sure your are downloading the correct platform (Mac or Windows).
We use cookies and other technologies to better understand a visitor's experience and to help improve our websites. By continuing to use the website, you consent to Middlebury's use of cookies and other technologies as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
This will bring you to the new PerkinElmer registration portal where you can enter your data and get your new software and associated codes. You will get an e-mail which will guide you through the 2nd 1/2 of the process.
When your software is due for renewal, a message should be sent by the vendor to your Middlebury College email address outlining the reactivation process. If you misplace your serial number at anytime, you can look it up by logging into their website again.
Absolutely. A professor can install the software on a home computer. The software can be installed on home computers and school computers, or on many school computers. The same holds true for students. As long as they are covered by the site license at all, which means that they have a valid email address at your school, they can install the software on as many computers as they want.
Yes, the software is available for both Windows and Macintosh users. You will be sent serial numbers for both types of computers and you may choose which one to download from the Cambridge Software URL. Are Manuals available? Manuals are available to download in the form of PDF. They are available for download from the same site.
We expect that most schools will renew their license rather than let it expire. If your license expires, you will only lose the ability to create new data and to edit existing data. You will still be able to view any data you had created while under the site license.
The Annual Site License allows you to use the latest version of the software, regardless of when that version was released. Each user will have to download and install the update, of course, but they are certainly allowed to do so under the terms of the license.

SPSS
Rental of software such as SPSS is available through OnTheHub -discounts/spss-statistics. You will need to keep in mind that there is a fee for the rental and Augsburg has no connection with OnTheHub or SPSS (except for the fact that we own the software for some of the computer labs). Augsburg has no special involvement with this offer and students should contact OnTheHub directly for any support or questions.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) has created iCn3D 1.0 ("I see in 3D"), a new WebGL-based viewer for interactive viewing of 3D macromolecular structures and chemicals on the web. Users no longer need to install a separate application to view structures. With iCn3D 1.0, users can:
The source code for iCn3D is available from GitHub for developers who would like to customize the program and/or contribute code, and for users who would like to run the program on their local computer.
