This Unitel picture -- a follow-up to their awardwinning MMFF 2003
movie, Crying Ladies -- stars Angelica Panganiban in the title role,
with Johnny Delgado, Jericho Rosales and Cherry Pie Picache.

Released here in the Philippines late last year and still being shown
in our provincial theaters, Santa Santita is set to be shown in some
theater circuits abroad this month.

We got word from Toronto-based Ferdinand Lapuz of Ignatius Films over
there, that on March 11 (Friday) in New York, San Diego and Hawaii.

Moreover, the Guillen film is set for showing also starting on March 25
(Friday) in Toronto and Mississauga in Canada.

>From Ferdie too came the earlier information that late 2004 movies --
Cesar Montano's Panaghoy sa Suba and Jeffrey Jeturian's Minsan Pa
-- have already made it to the Tokyo International Film Festival
selection.

The Tokyo filmfest starts on late October to early November 2005.

Incidentally, Mario O'Hara's Babae sa Breakwater is in the
competition section of the Fribourg International Film Festival this
month.

Babae... which was the first Filipino film to make it to Cannes last
May 2004 after 15 years, was in competition also in CineManila and New
Delhi filmfest where it won best actress award for lead actress
Katherine Luna.

It was in 1989 that Lino Brocka's Orapronobis (Pray For Us) -- his
fourth, after Insiang, Jaguar and Kapit sa Patalim -- was shown in
Cannes.
