Goings on at The Hillside Cafe (and the Franklin Reformed Church) this Sunday, April 13th @ 4pm

Hi Music Friends,

 

Just an update to let you know that The Hillside Cafe is busy putting together our next show - we're targeting October 2014 - and I will keep you all in the loop as things develop!!

 

In the meantime, our host, The Franklin Reformed Church is having a musical event of its own this coming weekend.  On Palm Sunday, April 13th @ 4pm, the church's resident pop band "doorjam" is presenting their original musical piece for Holy Week entitled:  A Pilgrim's Psalm: A Contemporary Oratorio.  The Oratorio features all original music that was inspired by a series of 27 contemporary, brilliant and dramatic paintings by artist Lucy Janjigian depicting her interpretation of events so long ago. The images are projected during the musical presentation. It is a great spiritual start to Easter week.  doorjam also features 4 volunteers from The Hillside Cafe as vocalists and instrumentalists:  Jill Fenske, Martin Williams and LInda and Joe Ribaudo.

 

The Oratorio has been performed all over the tri-state area, but this is the first time the music and projected images will be shared in the historic sanctuary of The Franklin Reformed Church itself. 

 

Admission is free and there will be refreshments afterwards.
