Friday; Anissa and I arrived into Rome, Italy with our niece, nephew,
and a family friend from our hometown. We are here to attend the
Easter celebrations and show Rome to our family. We arrived at the
apartment we are renting at about 5:30 PM and were taking the tour
inside with the owner.
The car was parked across a busy local street --locked-- while we were
inside. After 10 minuets Anissa went to get a something from the car
to complete the check-in. Everything was gone. There were over 10 bags
that were taken containing everything that Anissa, Nathan, Amanda, and
I had. EVERYTHING. We were left with the sirts on our back. Jen lost a
backpack but was thankfully spaired the loss of her suitcase. She has
very important medication that would have been hard to replace. Also
with great thanks we all had our wallets and passports with us in the
house except for Nathan who lost his passport only.
What had happened is that somebody pulled up behind the car and popped
the lock on the driver side door with a tool, unlocked the other doors
and took everything of value.
Of course we filed a police report and are trying to recover and
rebuild, but we are now very tired. We are not sure what we are going
to do next. We need a few days of recovery before we can think
clearly.
Thanks to everybody for your support in this trip.
