Dear friends of GLAS,
It will soon be twenty years since GLAS first came to life on a bleak winter's night in January 2005. It would not have lasted this long without your support. You don't have to come to every event but we try to cater for a range of tastes as we pursue our mission of supporting the arts and supporting people in need. We have managed to do all that with the support of generous sponsors down through the years.
We would like to thank everyone who came to our Christmas concert last night in the old town and who gave so generously, over CHF 7,000 was raised. All donations great and small are appreciated and will support the work of the Gaza branch of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music whose staff and senior students try to bring some normalcy into the lives of children who are deeply traumatised by the horrific events of the last year.
These include Mohammed Abu Aideh (pictured here) who lost a hand in an air strike but now plays the violin thanks to the dedicated outreach of staff at the Gaza School of Music which GLAS has been supporting since 2016.

You can check out our review of last night's concert on the
GLAS website.
We hope to see many of you at an event to be scheduled in the new year to mark our 20th anniversary.
In the meantime, the GLAS team wishes you all a merry Christmas and a happy, peaceful new year.
