Dear friends of GLAS,

We are very pleased to be back after the summer break and hope to see you at our next show. Please spread the word on our behalf as it is all in aid of a good cause.
The last time GLAS hosted Pat Kinevane  was his performance of Silent in 2014 and it went on to win a Laurence Olivier award for the Dublin-based Fishamble Theatre company. We are bringing him back for his latest solo drama, King, for one night only on Thursday, November 6, in our old stomping ground at Coudriers opposite Balexert (bus no 10).
King tells the story of Luther, a man from Cork named in honour of his grandmother's hero, Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Luther only leaves his apartment for essential journeys, and to perform as an Elvis impersonator. The play explores prejudice, privilege, and resilience, as Luther struggles to live life to the full. It was named Pick of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Fishamble and Pat Kinevane have previously collaborated on Forgotten, Silent, Underneath, and Before, which have all won major international awards including Fringe First, Herald Archangel and Adelaide Fringe. The critics have been fulsome in their praise for Pat Kinevane's acting: 'Brilliant' - Irish Times; 'Extraordinary' - New York Times; 'Stunning' - Scotsman; 'Dazzliing' - The Guardian; and 'Mesmerising' - Sydney Morning Herald
Please spread the word, all proceeds will go to the Gaza School of Music which is a branch of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Palestine. They continue to engage with displaced children traumatised by two years of war.
