Just a quick note to welcome our two newest members. As I mentioned earlier this week, we had the Montana Unabombers and Who is John Galt? depart after the season. Those two spots have been filled by a couple of familiar faces (if you've been around long enough). Join me in welcoming back to the league Jesse Dodds and one of our original founding members Jerry Scherwin.

As in the past, we will conduct a quick snake draft via email for the two new members to fill their rosters. As you may recall, we (I) will record a coin flip to see which owner gets the first pick. They will have the choice of any player on either of the two rosters, any non-rookie free agents and the two rookie picks assigned to their teams (so they could select the #1 rookie pick with the first pick in the supplemental draft). After the first pick, the owners will alternate making selections one at a time. I will be in touch with the new owners on getting all the league info and we will kick off their draft Monday.

Once that is complete, we will conduct the rookie draft the same way. We'll leave a week or two between then and the keeper selection deadline so people can talk a few trades and then we will lock it up. We will plan on doing the actual auction draft in late August. Please let me know your preference on day of the week and any dates that plain won't work. We will try to accommodate the majority. The first NFL game of the season is Thursday, September 8th so our backstop for drafting is Labor Day weekend.

One final note, since we had an open spot in the Commissioners Committee and nobody seemed to give a damn, I've asked Jerry to join so we don't have an even number and can decide any votes. As I said previously, Jerry actually helped me create this league 5+ years ago so I think he will be a great addition.
